at 23000 tons it's slightly over Invincible Class (I believe they were between 19 and 21000 tons depending on load). They are great pictures. I saw the bulbous bow in build at Babcock's Appledore yard. Was pretty impressive!

One wonders what the price for contract divers is for this project. I guarantee those guys are making money hand over fist every time a section is floated and then resettled on those blocks. There are always divers in the dock when those events take place.

When will the ship be in one final piece? (not necessarily launched or fully complete, but enough for us to see it as a single ship)

Considering the cost of this project,I would think that it would be minimal.
That said any diver on such projects is worth whatever they get paid.

It's all part of the Government's nefarious plan to build a new British Empire...

Nuclear scrapyard is probably the best angle you can throw at it. Think of those Russian port towns where submarines go to die and dribble their reactor contents across the harbours in an incontinent stupor whilst the better off peasants raise chickens in the torpedo racks. They make Rosyth look good.

How about I give the MoD £50 billion and have those decomissioned submarines refitted and put back in service? HMS Conquerors first patrol will be to the south Atlantic?
