It looks like there is a differing of opinions here. I really like the building and it's only 3 feet taller than Austin's tallest yet it's a dwarf in Chicago...lol.

The roof is still hideous. It is out of proportion.

I'll wait for the completion before I finally judge it.

What about all the missing details around the roof?

I hope it won't stay like this

One of my most favorite cities, Chicago (along with Toronto, NYC and Los Angeles) and it will be even better soon enough. Thanks for sharing the pictures and what a sight, with John Hancock on the background.

Amazing how many of those tall peaks are new, and nevertheless they fail to make a significant dent in the skyline, with the arguable exception of Trump...

I think the color throws it off a lot. There is already too much beige in that area with similar colored residential towers. If it was darker and had some contrast or a more realistic stone cladding throwback would have made a huge difference. It almost has a purple tint vs the yellow and high brick variation on the renders.

I see rather much of a beige than only blue/green-ish glass all over the same area and spread all across any city!

Here is the reason why I like Chicago regarding architecture. (aside of the fact it is one my most fave cities)

While all over this planet, architects are building supertalls, skyscrapers of all odd shapes and forms, leaving them behind with no significant spirit or meaning at all and think of just short term gains and bringing a project rapidly to its opening day, not aware of Architecture as an ART, Chicago instead is working on its face, as a city where one can feel glamorious, beautiful and really have fun, not only looking down and on the street level, but up and enjoy the magnificance of its architectural beauty.

This city, Chicago, the windy city, is going to show the world, that it is indeed going to have a windy effect on designs elsewhere and talking about the wind of change, well, that begins in Chicago first and is spreading slowly towards the rest of the world, second is New York I guess with referring to projects such as the Beekman Place or Tower Verre. It makes me so happy to look at this beautiful building and a few more around town and see the so subtile revival of art-deco and neo renaissance revive and occure. The whole building is a beauty and that all along with AQUA, Trump Tower and other ongoing projects or future projects such as the Chicago Spire, will prove the fact that Chicago is rightfully called " an open museum of Architecture" . Beautiful and bravo to those who ve built it. I 'd love to see more and more of this trend worldwide so the cities again regain a certain level of a their own being. Classic , Chique, Elegant and above all, very sophisticated.
