Respect they preserve the old housewall, instead of tearing everything down.
Give the whole new stuff a historical integrity.

Here's some mobile phone camera photos of the building progress with the new Scandic hotel. I never uploaded them to my blog so they're perhaps 3 weeks old now. The last photos are of the demolition of the city houses/byhuse at Randersvej to make way for the light rail.

Sorry for the bad quality.

Strange this hasn't been mentioned here yet. Siloetten in the suburb Løgten wins WAN Residential Award 2010:

Quote:

The fourth episode in the series "Arkitekternes Hjem" on DR K visits the home of the English architect Chris Thourlbourne who works at the Aarhus School of Architecture and lives in Højbjerg, Aarhus.

His house is a tree house built out of timber to his own design. The interior is simply amazing. And the handball venue which is featured in the program is also really beautiful.

The program can be seen here:

I thought the Light*house project with Denmark's tallest building (142m) on the docklands of Aarhus was completely dead and buried, but apparently its still very much alive!

Jp.dk has an interresting video feature about Light*house and the entire docklands project here: http://jp.dk/jptv/nyheder_erhverv/er...cle2380166.ece

The Lighthouse tower will be part of Stage 3, while Stage 1 is under way at the moment and should be ready about April 1. next year.

(if this isn't news I apologize )

It would surely help to kick start the development of this area if they added this planned and relatively cheap stage of the Aarhus Light Rail, from the cross roads of Kystvejen and Nørreport to the end of the tree lined boulevard in Nordhavn.
This line would also be useful as a "short turnback line" for tram-trains from the Odder direction.

Urban Mediaspace

I searched for it in this thread but I didn't get to many hits (perhaps it is under another name?)

But anyway it looks more surten now doesn't it? At least since NCC has struck a deal to build it.

The Urban Mediaspace is a done deal. It's all set to go under construction in August. The municipality did not save a dime on Urban Mediaspace during the negotiations to lower the municipality's budget in December 2010.

Your Rainbow Panorama opens on the 28th of May. It's going to be a great asset to both ARoS, the city of Aarhus and Denmark as a whole. I'm looking forward to it.

It really should be. Would have been much cheaper and Aarhus is not exactly a sonorous word.
