That's bonkers. Love it!!

Glasgow:

St. Vincent Place (the majority of bus stops in Glasgow now have raised sections of pavement, akin to those found at tram stops).

Here in the Bay Area, bus stops come in various ways...

Painted on a post:

Island stops:

Right next to a major station:

Complete with a shelter:

An old bus shelter, complete with a NextBus screen:

Heck, we have these modern-looking shelters too:

And some of them have video screens: (pic below has a video screen to the left, not visible)

Lots of Dutch bus stops will be converted to resemble something like this:

In Buenos Aires the city's government is renewing the bus stops, and they look like these:

Near terminal train stations the stops look like these:

And in the city's bus-exclusive lanes in some major avenues, they look like these:

Sadly, In my city of Rīga all the new bus stops are quite terrible in every single way - they look boring, they are not very people friendly and have too many holes to hide from wind either.
The most interesting one I know is now disused - the shelter at "Brīvdabas muzejs" (Open-air museum) stop:

It's role is now being played by this, which is okay but boring. And a problem with the bus stop sign - it still shows two minibus routes, both of which are now closed.

And on the other side of the dual carriageway this autumn they placed such shelter. And the bus stop sign doesn't even feature it's name and bus routes - very friendly for a stop used by tourists... And this problem even exists in the city center where 10 or more routes stop!

A bit more interesting (because it is orange) type of shelters used at bus and tram stops with many people:

And the newest type of shelters used at bus and tram stops (ignore the London Underground roundel):

I've yet to see anybody venture interacting with any one of the several dozen inner Montreal's new months-old bus shelters

Here's a shot I took last night at the San Rafael Transit Center, a large transit hub for buses heading within Marin County, as well as regional services to San Francisco, Sonoma County, and Contra Costa County:

That bus, by the way, arrived packed at the transit center (all the way from San Francisco), hence it arrived 20 minutes later than scheduled and left nearly 30 minutes after its scheduled departure at 6pm. And that bus still has to cover around 35 miles (56km) to its final destination in Santa Rosa, lasting around two hours. A one-seat ride end-to-end on that line might take you around three hours, if not more, owing to multiple freeway bus pad stops.

Probably the worst not-temporary bus stop for "higher service buses" which is a fancy name for minibuses in my city.

So on a rainy day a person who doesn't know the non-existent schedule will come to this stop not knowing the name of the stop, nor any of the routes that stop here and will stand on the mud, because there is no shelter nor a bench and not even a paved surface. Then in maybe some 30 minutes a minibus will arrive and pass the stop without stopping because if it is full (16 people) then it can do that. How very handy! That is something that you really will pay twice the normal ticket price for*!

*Not yet but the company wanted to make the fare difference from the current 0,10 € to twice the normal bus ticket price of 0,60 €.

I have pictures of bus stops from various places in South Korea. Can I post shots from different cities even though I don't live there? I lived in Daejeon for about a year. I have a bunch from the countryside and a few in cities.

Daejeon, South Korea

I used a tilt-shift lens with this one which is why it's blurry on the left and right.

Technically in the nearby city of Nonsan, but the Daejeon bus passes by more often here than Nonsan buses.

Under the premise of improving the quality of life of the citizens of the capital , the Department of the Office of the Public Space ( Dadep ) announced Wednesday the implementation of the project ' whereabouts green ' , in various parts of Bogotá.

The project aims to transform the urban furniture in a furniture ecourbanístico whose purpose is the impact on the environment and the environment.

According to the director of Dadep, Blanca Inés Durán, the city "needs green public spaces , citizens need better air quality and, what's better, it is embellished by a city, this is a commitment to improve public spaces and and lifestyle of the city, with a friendly environment. "

The project involves a special planting an ultralight topsoil on rooftops eight stops located in five districts of Bogotá, including Kennedy, Chico, Engativá, Fontibon and Santa Fe.

According to the Dadep, planting material is self-sustaining and does not require permanent irrigation. Also, at the points where the green stops be installed, several biologists measure whether air pollution decreases in different periods. If the results are positive, the project implementation would be done in 50 percent of the bus stops of the capital.

The project will have no cost to the city , because the firm Eucol bear the cost of this, said Dadep. It is expected that the project will be expanded to other public spaces in the city.

This is in Okcheon, which is a nearby city of Daejeon, South Korea.

This is technically in the city of Daejeon, but is in the countryside.

These four are from Colorado Springs, CO, USA. The first is the plainest sign. Notice the "bus" metal plate at the bottom. I believe all the posts have that plate, which also has "bus" in braille.

I've ridden all the routes in the city and I saw only one sign in the entire city that notated which route stops there. I guess they figure you're just supposed to know in advance.

Signpost and bench

Some stops have the green circular thing with a schedule which would tell you which buses stop there, but most stops don't have it.

Believe it or not, covered bus stops are rare.
