Well I agree Barcelona is a great city, but the skyline has plenty of room for improvement. I love that giant cathedral (sorry I don't know the name) and hope they don't build any skyscrapers near it because it is spectacular on the skyline. Also the Torre Agbar (***** looking building) reminds me very much of the Swiss re in London. It's good to see plenty of new projects. BTW does Barcelona have a skyscraper cluster/area, or are they scattered about the city? For skyline 7/10

BCN Skyline

My new opinion is:

Skyline 8/10

Barcelona is a flat city and the skyline will probably remain as it is, the architectural configuration of the districts that form the city doesn't allow for too many experiments with clusters of tall buildings.. the gothic and modernist legacies are untouchable: the gothic one is spread all over the Old City including the Cathedral (it doesn't have a popular name, just La Catedral), while the Modernist buildings are almost everywhere, from the old pier to the uptown neighborhoods at the mountain's foot, but mostly in the central grid...

the only thing resembling a cluster of tall buildings is the new Forum area (at the left in the panoramic views), and a street at the other side of the city, near the Montju´c hill, that has three small skyscrapers as well (Carrer Tarragona)... the other tall buildings are isolated and spreaded around the city, though most are near or next the Diagonal avenue that cuts the city in two... with the exception of the two tallest buildings that are by the beach, the Hotel Arts and the Mapfre Tower (nicknamed The Twins cause despite the different facades and structural systems (and designed by different architects) they have the same heights (154 m / 513 ft) and play some kind of a game, framing the sea when seen from the city... and the future tower by Frank O. Ghery that will be placed at the north side of the city, alone in terms of heights but presiding over a huge urban operation for a new high-speed train (TGV) station...

these are the tallest towers, Hotel Arts (the one with a white exoskeleton) and Mapfre Tower (the stack of trays)...

this is the Diagonal Avenue that cuts the city in two (that high black tower at the right of the street was the first skyscraper built in Barcelona, Banc Sabadell (previously Banco Atlßntico) in 1968).. at the left in the far background there's the Sagrada Familia:

going down the Diagonal avenue there's the Agbar Tower, which apparently is lost in Nowhere Land, but urbanistically it marks a new centrality, a major crossroads that was already in the original masterplan done by Ildefons CerdÓ in 1859... this ring road has been a hole for most of the time but there's a new plan for making an underground road connection and turning the ring road into a big green rectangle, a park without traffic... the Agbar will be the tall icon that this place needs to regain some urban amability, and it will be accompanied by another tall building (though 40 m shorter), the Laminated Tower, a complex of cinemas by Zaha Hadid and a new Museum of Design by Oriol Bohigas...
the ring road with the Agbar, known as Plaša de les Gl˛ries (Glories Square), looks like this:

and this is the new masterplan:

this will be Agbar's partenaire, the Laminated Tower, just at the other side of the street...

the Diagonal ends at the Forum area, next to the sea... this is the Forum area some time ago (now it's almost finished..):

this will be the new tower by Gehry, an office tower with a Museum of Transport at its feet, next to a future TGV station:

and these panos are from this site: http://www.barcelonaskyline.com, which is devoted uniquely to Barcelona's skyline and it's updated almost daily with several shots at different hours of the day... these are just some examples I choosed randomly:

and as a bonus, Barcelona under the snow, one week ago...

...fireworks every June 24 (Sant Joan)...

... and, finally, fireworks at the end of the F˛rum 2004 (that cluster of small skyscrapers at the left):

That's all...

I just love this city. Skyline is scattered and only a few buildings but the ones there are nice.

Wow Medit. Impresionante
I think that Barcelona is one of the most beautiful citys. Its skyline is a different scale of other citys, but... it's beautiful too.
I love the city. 9/10

Some nice towers, but no distinct skyline. Needs more density. I give it a 7/10.
