Thanks for the detailed explanation of Indian Monsoon....When I came to India to India for vacation, I stays indoors most of the time, cuz outside was unbearable in Monsoon and I wasn't so sure about the wind.

True, most of the times here in Mumbai there is hardly any wind. The skies are just hell bent on sending as much water as possible down here. That is what affects construction sites. Even Metro work has slowed down a pace. And it rains in spells. 1-1.5 weeks of dry spells and the 2 weeks of a wet spell. That way.

New pics don't show it either. The rods has been covered with some kind of paint or foam making it looking denser, they installed some pump and set a scaffolding. And that all in one month. That all looks just like maintenance works during monsoons not a construction really.

But whats the most important now is that they still haven't abandoned the site, which they surely would if the project was canceled/blocked by the government. So I think since they still bother to send workers there to do maintenance works the project will probably go forward. Although because of things like deinstalled crane we have to wait till monsoons end to be sure for 100%.

Why? There clearly hasn't been much progress with this for months. It's essentially on hold for the time being.

DB Realty is not only owner of this project. The Hyatt is the lead sponsor. Is the future Park Hyatt Mumbai Hotel.

Well, they still started construction and the halt is due to the monsoon, right?
Difficult case.

I honestly don't care in which section of the forum this one is now. The real moment to make that decision will be the end of the monsoons. So it may be in U/C if you like. If it won't restart after end of the monsoons it will go on hold sooner or later anyway.

It is very similar to what happened with the Pentominium, Infinity and Ping'Am. Slowly is different from discontinued.

In the Linkedin, the chief surveyor of India Tower from Larson & Toubro continues as chief surveyor of project.

Can anyone show us another Mumbai project that slowed to this level during a previous monsoon season? I mean, did Palais Royale stop last summer or the year before when it was at the foundation stage?

I was wondering if this is the case in any other projects too. But I guess this is hard to tell since updates from mumbai are so rare.

Not exactly relevant but might give an idea that traditionally work does halt for 4 months of monsoon.

Safety first while working in monsoon: Experts

MUMBAI: The state’s decision to continue work on Metro, monorail and flyovers during the monsoon, rather than putting them on hold for four months, was hailed by most citizens who are eager to see the construction work end.

Mirani added, that special care has to be taken during the monsoon as one gets less space to work due to flooding.

“Girders, beams, cranes, hooks and other equipment get slippery and sometimes go out of order. Effect of water and wind on construction works should be given a thought. Independent agencies should be appointed to check the safety of projects during and after the work,”
