So the foundations are intact? Last time I checked there have been 3 wings of a foundation slab poured in with some steel beams already coming out.

What do you mean by intact? The project isn't even on hold for one year. There were many projects around the world waiting for resuming of construction for much longer than this and concrete was fine.

Mu understanding was they halted the works on foundation abruptly hence I was worried they would not seal the construction site. I didn't mean the actual concrete. Good to hear DB is planning on resuming those investments.

I remember they even were painting rebar ends with protective paint. Back then people were arguing "dah, it's for monsoons!" lol So yeah, unless the site is flooded by now, everything should be fine I think.

Brother as far as feeding its poor is concerned let me tell you that India's food production is in surplus but it's the mis-management and corruption which hampers the food for all program.India is investing huge amount of money on infrastructure( for more info visit SSCI).

On slum in Mumbai let me tell you that it's one of the costliest cities in the world as far as house rent is concerned. So 40% people here can't afford those expensive flats. But around 70% of those people are educated and highly skilled leather and textile workers which are sold in the swanky malls in London or Paris.

Sorry for going of the track...

You never know what will happen, but under the current situation we expect the construction to resume in 2-3 months. But who knows, this situation might change.

I don't know what's the exact reason caused the project put on hold but Indian forumer comments was due to monsoon.

But personally I believe it's due to financial and legal issue.

After months of no info on the project, many of us thought it was because of the monsoon, but the reason was finally published. The problem was a legal issue with the city authorities who demanded more money, so the developer dragged them to the high court and the final word is still awaited.

It's about time India starts building some supertalls. The skyline will look awesome with this addition.

Mumbai is the only city with U/C Supertalls in India apart from the one in Delhi. There are also approved supertalls in Hyderabad : 600m Signature tower, and 450m APIIC tower. But after 2 years they are yet to take off.

Sooner or later, metro cities will be forced to go vertical though!

Make me the Prime minister of our country(India)..I'll ban buildings less than 150m tall in Mumbai,Delhi,Kolkata,Chennai and Bengaluru.I think it's time we moved vertical than horizontal.Or else lack of space will hamper our growth process.
