Cut out your xenophobic claptrap or get banned. And for the record, stuff over 300m ACTUALLY gets built in China. Plus, having your first 442m building or 700m building is nothing to shout about, quit with the inferiority complex.

I must say, I'm skeptical too. I think shape of the site, and its size doesn't look like for the current design. Also, progress is still unproven (well, except of this small crane on the site). But I'm also huge fan of this project, and really would like to see it realized. Lets hope somehow it will overvome obstacles on its way and go straight forwarld

If that is the case, India (Mumbai) has a really good track record. It has been steadily progressing from 100 mts to 200 plus and now 300 plus towers. There are 400 mts plus ones in the pipeline and now this 700m one. For me, Its a good enough track record.

Also, to create a "track record" you need to begin at some point I believe? Or is it that you refuse to accept that India can begin its track record of constructing a supertall with a 700 m tower?

It's all very well telling people to quit with the inferiority complex but when you respond with outlandish statements like this it doesn't really help your case either.

Since when has having your first 700m building been nothing to shout about? Are you crazy??

Offering a point of view about the building could have been done in a much better way. A statement like "Lol, good luck actually getting this built" sounds more like poking fun (as if you KNOW this ain't gonna be built anyway) and much less a "point of view". It could have been put forth in a much better way. For eg: "I really doubt if this would ever materliase" and so on..

What about boasting that a 442 m tower will be the tallest resi tower in the world when there are clearly taller U/C resi towers in the world,
I dont think anyone from the Indian forum have been thumping their chests with the claim that the world one would be the tallest residential tower in the world. Those who might have done (although I havent seen anyone do that) will have done it due to sheer ignorance. This ignorant bunch also includes the builders of World One who seem to be unaware of the Pentominium. No one is boasting here. We are skyscraper lovers and we're just excited about having not one but two supertalls in our country. Unlike most old proposals, there are reasons to believe that these two actually stand a great chance to be built

That crane cannot belong to this project. Unless the piling and the base iis completed, you'll not see any tower crane on site, plus considering that picture seams to have been taken with a telephoto lens, the crane can be 1-2 km more distant of where it might appears to be.

It just a 500m tall building with a 200m spire on top. Mumbai has multiple skyscrapers from 300-500m, so there isn't much of a jump.

yeah really i was thinking the same thing. it would make sense if it was a bankrupt company that has no buyers for the project, but if the building already has been sold out there should be plenty of money to finish the project.

The original structural design was of three concrete shafts/cores rising on each of the angles and housing the lifts and of course being the backbone of the building, then the floors in blocks of 20 each would have been "hung" from there. However it seams that the structural design of the tower has been changed.

Apparently now WSP has taken over the design and Larsen & Tubro is the main contractor.

... or so I heard
