lets watch you construct a hundred meter spire on top of a 500m building, its not as easy as people on the forum make it to be, "cheating" doesnt make a building worse,

It's "cheating" because it has nothing to do with the original design. Of course it isn't easy but it's easier than changing the design and adding like 25 extra floors.
In this case it isn't cheating because this huge spire is a part of the design.

I love how severely lacking India is when it comes to infrastructure, and yet they decide to throw this thing up. Absolute waste.

The renders look sad, not a single building around that can complement it.

mumbai has spent billions on new infrastructure over the last 15 years. their railway network sells 6.9 million tickets daily, they are soon opening their first monorail network and a subway network is not far behind. their highway network is progressing steadily as well.

the city is the economic heart of south asia... it would be a waste for them to spend this much money on superhighway, subway, rail and monorail infrastructure if there wasn't going to be an economic and business hub to service.

Why do people say "India" is building this. India Tower is being built by a private developer.

In twenty years, a sea of skyscrapers will surround it. One day, India could overtake China and the US and become the world's largest economy.

No offense, but your comments don't make any sense. What do you mean "they" decide to "throw this thing up"? Like India 101 said, this building is being built by a private developer, not the government or anything like that. And this building could be the catalyst for more buildings "that can complement it." Although I prefer it not, because there are many important heritage structures in that area.

China i dont know, but USA is the natural order of things as nominal GDP goes.

The population advantage of india is too big, it only needs a fraction of US per capta GDP to achieve that.

its not. this is india the final height and design will not be the same as shown in the 'renders'. it will probably end up being a 60 floor block of cement.

It would be nice if they would be. I am always sceptic. Sometimes it`s better to be sceptic to be not shocked if it doesn`t work ( Chicago Spire, Al Burj,.. are just some examples.

If things looks more certain we should make that thread sticky.

What I was simply trying to say is look around the construction site. It doesn't even look like the buildings around work on the same utility grid. The first step to making a city of the future is retrofitting the old for the new, which is something that isn't going all to well in India.

I understand that Mumbai is going to be an economic powerhouse, but from a planner's point of view it is a hell hole right now.

Without final rendering? The final render is posted multiple times in this thread.
