It's almost certain that this won't be the final design. Most buildings change their design like 5 times or more. And there are also renders just to give an idea, never intended to be the real building, but than here on ssc people think that is what it will look like. I do think the render posted here alot is the a real one, but it has already changed 2 times and probably there will be some more changes.

basic triangular design of the building wont change because triangle shaped foundation can be seen in the google earth (imagery date jan 2010) .... may be the elevation will change slightly

Please show us this 'triangular' foundation. Pictures please, not Google Earth guesstimates.

The design concept is outstanding.
The only thing that annoys me is the fact that those 4 segments of the tower don't share the same height. I mean if its for structural reasons to make the lowest one shorter then they could at least make the remaining ones progressing in height with a continuous factor.
Like this it just looks strange and distorted.

Nevertheless: The sooner they finish it, the better.

Please look at page 14 and tell me those buildings on the edge of this site are already gone. http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showth...471040&page=14

Then try to imagine walking through that area to the second highest building on earth?

I don't want to sound like I am against this project, but I do not see the building that is shown in the renders built in that area unless everything else is torn down.

Also the foundation area does not look like a triangle shape, not even close.

http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showth...471040&page=20

Some fresh pictures over the fence would be nice!

yeah doesn't really seem like a foundation for a 720m tower is being constructed here, mods should move this to proposed supertalls until they have proof (besides, digging is only prep, not construction)

Very gorgeous building.

The spire's like 2/5ths of the building's height, is that safe lol.

I agree, the thread title should be changed to prep since they are still digging!

Pics from about 2 months ago from the site showed what looked like concrete being poured for foundations. We dont know how old that satellite pic might be, so i think this should stay U/C for now.

In this post the user India101 promised to take lots of update pictures in November. Here's what he said:

Hi all.

Nice design. I for one, hope this does get built. It would be the second tallest structure on Earth when completed (depending on construction speed of course). This is presuming the Kingdom tower will take longer to build.

Ray.

If the Kingdom Tower was to be built first, that've been a miracle!

The building looks awesome. Great design. I hope it comes as per the last render and finish soon. It would be a gem in the skyline of Mumbai.
