With today's computing technology and international expertise you can build anything anywhere. It's just a matter of having enough money and the right political climate.

But yeah, I hope that this gets built eventually, even if it just functions as a giant middle-finger to all the bigots and racists of the world.

One of the Mumbai forumers should be able to take some pics soon. The site is surrounded by guards who wont allow photography - let alone let people inside. The project is being done on a very low profile. (again, for India specific reasons!) Hopefully once of one of us can get to a vantage point nearby from where we could have a birds view of the project, more pics would come.

hopefully my reply will start the "back-on-topic" responses again

I really like this tower, and I don't know why..but I have the feeling that this tower will shoot above 800 m when it's about to be finished.
anyway, it's a great addition to the "world's" skyline.

@Rody69
I kind of doubt that it will go over 800m. Anyways, I think it is a good idea to be a pessimist about this project. A wise man once told me that you should always be pessimistic because you are either right or pleasantly surprised.

No its just needs to be fettled by the mods of the last few pages of off topic garbage.

And just to comment on the current state of play that kidney shaped hole on the updated Google pic looks remarkably like it is being dug out to accomodate the triangular shaped footprint I overlaid on the old Google pic. Any thoughts on why that might be?

I typed in "mumbai" on Google Images. I didn't see any dead bodies. Unless you were referring to pictures of the 2008 terrorist attacks, which is a different story altogether.

But anyways enough is enough. You are obviously aren't going to change your opinion and we are not going to change ours, so this is really a pointless discussion.

I guess this means we should wait until later in November when India101 says he'll try to get an update.

ON THE BEAT

In South Korea, Seoul plans to put up the 133-storey Digital Media City while the 151-storey Incheon Tower will have the world’s tallest twin towers by 2014.

Shanghai’s skyline is still growing with the 121-floor Shanghai Tower currently under construction.

Mumbai in India is also undergoing a massive building boom with hundreds of high-rises and over 85 supertalls currently under construction, including the 125-storey India Tower and 117-floor World One.

Those just approved include four residential towers with 100 storeys and above, all also in Mumbai

Yes, but for ST they've done pilling first before digging, and pilling counts as U/C.

It would really help people believing in this getting finished one day, if the design was more economically feasible. Like World One, for example.
