Indeed. I've just had to delete about 100 posts. Next person to de-rail this thread will be banned.

I agree. This thread can go in proposals, until we have better pics/updates.

Cheers Will.

Surely this isn't the right section as the tower is no longer proposed, its very much underway. The Shanghai tower was in the U/C section even though it was only the enabling and foundation works that were underway. It seems that this thread is just suffering from lack of updates and publicity in the media rather than actual work on site, as that very deep triangular shaped hole on Google confirms.

^I think it's better off here. At least we we won't have to suffer the constant "India sucks/no it doesn't" type of discussions. It can be moved back if and when we get better updates or press coverage.

Those sorts of conversations have nothing to do with this project.

Well everyone wants that but if there's just not enough proof it won't be on that side. Preparation works doesn't change into U/C within a week. Especially for projects this big, preparation works take a long long time.

Hasn't been a week though, that latest pic that's been shown several times is a couple of months old if I recall correctly. As has been said, it's best to wait for a recent picture before drawing any conclusion as to the project's status. For now "prep" will have to do, because that's what the latest available photo shows, no matter how outdated it may or may not be.

the problem is guys when people in mumbai goto take pic its incredibly hard to get through

there is a big security cordon around it.

The only way we will know is when they start building and it rises above wall level of the compound. Its not as if we did not try.

I got down at Charni Road (a nearby railway station) the other day for some work. Plenty of security guards all round the building site.

I did not have a camera anyways, cause travelling Mumbai suburban its not a good idea to have a camera in rush hour . It will get crushed.

This one will just have to wait it out. Talked to a security guard and he was not ready to say anything to me. Just that there is something going on. Usually they do tell you in general whats going on.

So unless somebody has access to the buildings nearby to get a pic from above , its not going to be possible to take many pics.

compared to One World this project wants to slip under the radar for reasons known to them(want to avoid political controversy? stop becoming a terrorist target?)

btw any other mumbaikar notice that security private or police has been beefed up recently in mumbai around building sites?

I was near the site earlier today but noticed that its difficult to take pics from ground level. One thing I noticed that from outside, the area doesn't quite look as if it could "contain" a huge skyscraper as big as this one. Although the site does look huge from the Google Earth pictures.

There seem to be many multiple story buildings right on the edge of this 'construction site' and no one can climb 3 or 4 flights of stairs, look out a window and take a picture? Strange. Are we sure this isn't being built in Pyongyang? lol

Those people are lazy. Real skyscraper enthusiasts like IndiansUnite & Simba went into near by buildings or snuck in a camera.

Track from a article that describes the current chanches in Mumbai!

" Mumbai in India is also undergoing a massive building boom with hundreds of high-rises and over 85 supertalls currently under construction, including the 125-storey India Tower and 117-floor World One.

Those just approved include four residential towers with 100 storeys and above, all also in Mumbai.
