true.
However.
to get a building as high in quality as the shard . or any of the talls u /c in london, costs a fortune.
and i cannot beleive that anyone in india wants to spend that much money.
it may be built.
but it wont be either as tall or as classy as it is in the renders.
thats the truth of it.
How would you say that??? Any proof on how much they are spending to build this or is it just your speculation??? Or even worse your wish that its not that good quality??

This has obviously passed you by then. There are some of the richest people on earth in India who have no qualms about spending their money.

From the UK Guardian
Mukesh Ambani, India's richest man, builds world's first billion-dollar home

Unsubstantiated twaddle from someone who obviously knows little about this project or India. NEXT.

you seem to have a history of lets say being pessimistic....

dont hold ya breath thats all i will say

@deathcontrols.

Labour costs in India are less than in the UK. Thats the biggest difference. Its probably (i am just guessing) much more cost effective to construct a skyscraper in Mumbai than in London. So you dont need that much nominal amount of money.

The shard looks to be an amazing project btw.

If I saw a foundation that looked like it fit the renders basic shape, I would be optimistic. What I see with my own eyes tells me that this is absolutley the foundation of a supertall, just not the one in the renders that are being shown here. I'm not sure why anyone would be optimistic that what is being shown in this forum is what is actually planned to be built. Maybe we should go back to page 1 and guess which render is more likely to be constructed.

all i can say is lets see what happens.

I personally think that if it is indeed L shaped, surely thats one odd shape to take.

Not seen many L shaped buildings or skyscraper around.

Norman Foster are the architects and IMO they carry a big enough name to maybe execute the render in question

Will someone please bother to read that the "L-shape" or whatever is for just ONE wing out of the three cores?

dont think its fair to compare this to Las Vegas. That was the mother off all bubbles building casinos. It was a build it and they will come mentality.

I do believe this one already has clients booked before it was build and has achieved financial closure with the money raised on the Mumbai stock exchange with the IPO of the company involved in this DB reality.

Hyatt who are the prime client for this tower have already mentioned it in their fact sheet.

Credit to Mod IU for finding it

Park Hyatt Mumbai, India
 The hotel will be part of the iconic 125-story India Tower located on Marine Lines in South Mumbai.
 Park Hyatt Mumbai will include both guestrooms and serviced apartments.
 Foster and Partners, London has been selected as the leading designers for this full-service hotel, which will include banqueting and meeting facilities.

So i think its safe to conclude that the money side and profitability side of it is taken care off.

The Triangle pretty much fits the render .. I dunno what the confusion of the "L" shape is ... we all can see the "hole" is a triangle shape !!!

anyways nice to see all the progress ... this building will be a landmark development in India !!

If the ground has been dug so deep, it means this project is definitely on. No one is going to spend millions of rupees to dig so deep without any reasons.

2020 I would say. No way this tower is getting built in 4 years. Imperial Towers took a long time, at least 6 to 7 years. This is way taller than that.

The Imperial construction was riddled with litigations. If DB has the money, they will try to pull this one off as soon as possible. 2020?! thats a decade! I'm sure they wont take that long to build this one. Also, more the delay, more expensive this is gonna get.

would be nice if they could buy out the buildings on the north-west corner of the plot. else it would be terrible for access. i can see major traffic jams at the entrance
