Are you sure you don't mean another project? Because the main contractor for India Tower is meant to be Larsen & Toubro.

I really don't mind no photos for a while. It would just be nice if someone wrote about what they saw at the site. (ex. workers, concrete trucks, cranes moving)

For me, yes. This is the most important moment, which reveals the type of foundation.

Sad...

Hi all.

I agree Soroban.

The foundation work is like the first chapters of a book. As important - if not more so - than the rest of the book ...
I enjoy the earlier planning phase as well but we won't hear much of that here, for any project unfortunately.

Ray.

Another pic of the crane from a distance originally posted by Deekshith in the India forums.

^See, the crane has just popped out of the site and we've already had 3 shots of it. Once the core is tall enough we should be getting updates quiet regularly.

Nice image of the foundation. Looks like a couple of heavy-lift tower cranes and boom placers being set up. With the placers there, this looks like a slip-form construction methodology which would make sense given the sheer height of the structure.

The site itself is quite irregular, so the podium will probably be built out to the site lines and then the superstructure will rise above.

125 floors = 500 m, even if we consider an average 4m floor-to-floor. That means the structurals and spire are adding 220 m to the building, 44% of the actual usable height. Wow!

However extreme the design be, as a real estate professional, I am doubly happy that India has vaulted straight into the number two spot on the height charts and I am sure there will be more supertalls sprouting up across India soon.
