They mention 'Hotel Lobby' a second time in the 'volumes' part on the right. Again, they are referring to the middle of the building. While it seems like an interesting idea, I just don't understand how the logistics of moving people will work like that.

I found this drawing somewhat odd in that it highlights stairs all the way up, but doesn't show elevators all the way up. Weird drawing in that sense.

That part that sticks out in the 'Hotel Lobby' should have a glass floor

Last comment / question - it seems like that middle section will be a somewhat wide-open space. The drawing shows that the floors don't go wall to wall. Does anyone have a rendering of what that will look like on the inside?

The drawing above is not a true drawing, but a graphical representation of the structure. A sectional elevation, if you will... (showing split lift-shafts serving different levels)

Right now its almost exclusivly big residential & the odd tall hotel going up in india. Its only 12 months or so so the law was repealed in mumbai to allow more tall construction
I've heard the same thing. I talked with a friend from Mumbai a few years ago about skyscrapers in India, and he said that currently the infrastructure in India just can't support skyscrapers.

Most skyscrapers in Mumbai are residential and not commercial. Commercial space is really expensive in mumbai, Mumbai has 5th most expensive office space in the world, so most of new business are moving outskirts to new areas like the Bandra-Kurla Complex and Navi Mumbai.

Thats not entirely correct.Talls dont actually need that much dedicated infra. They just need whats there to work. And that can be made to happen.Go on the SSCI forum .U might find it interesting.

True, but the sewerage system in Mumbai, for instance, can't currently cope with the job it's supposed to do. Not to mention the continual power shortages...

Mods should change the title of this thread because the tower has a new name (not to mention new renderings).

Is Hyatt still the contracted operator for the hotel or was it passed on to Four Seasons?

That's unfortunate. I think the initial design was much better, though the DB version isn't bad either.

??? I didn't get that. Why is it bad for poor people in the outskirts if there is a skyscraper built inside the city???
