Not as harsh as compared to what he directed towards the mods.

I wasn't mad, though.

How could there be 163 floors. It's not like there is going to be floors in the spire, even if there is, I doubt they'd be habitable.

Level, not floor. Are 125 floors.

a few clarifications

people saying its a poor area and surrounded by poor areas.

(a) of the fours sides of the construction site, one side is western railways track. (beyond the tracks are gymkhanas or clubs) Another side is a park. A third side is a park/former burial ground which is being converted to a park.

the fourth side from which pictures are taken are either historic houses which cannot be demolished i think due a heritage status.

the buildings in that area are not poor. Buildings in mumbai start looking like that after 3-4 years of no fresh coat of paint. Ie the atmosphere slinitiy and humidity means you need to paint your building every 2 years (like we do).

Unfortunatly a lot of people staying in the buildings are renters. Who due to mumbais poor rent laws end up paying a pittance despite being well off and never get it painted.

A lot of buildings in the commercial district of nariman point. Concrete buildings built in the 70s look the same.

(b) Its not in that posh part of the city. Its in the Girgaum Chowpatty which is not even in the top ten areas in south mumbai for price. Places in the western burbs like Juhu and Bandra command more.

(c) There are shit loads of construction projects planned in the Girgaum belt. Check the mumbai updates thread.

For starters the Imperial towers which are completed and 250m tall are close by in Tardeo area.

the renders your getting do not show the whole picture. Its most likely what the tower will look like from the tip of marine drive along the nariman point end.

even that render is not accurate as it does not show the hanging gardens are the skyscrapers which are growing there.

If you look at it side on, ie from the arabian area facing Prabhadevi-Worli-Parel-Tardeo-Marine drive. It fits right in.

From this angle some of the high rise and skyscrapers are visible. India tower site is arrow marked and you can also see the red crane there.

Good news, they have already started using the first crane. There is a change in the direction of the crane.
You can compare the position with pic in post #1648 of this page. Both the pictures were taken from the same place.
As on today( 23rd April) afternoon.( crane is visible in the far left, red color crane)

It seems, the crane's direction is pointing towards the "third wing", is it not?

I wonder if the tower crane is being used to erect the others or they outside its swing area?

Yes i would say that they are using it to put up the other cranes since they took the other crane away that set the first one up

Guess So!!!

But from the POV of the picture above, the second crane (the incomplete crane in the picture below) is on the left of the operational crane.....

In other words, the crane is pointing opposite to the second crane....may be its for the third crane....India Tower apparently needs 3 cranes
Again will see in a few days or months if the third crane rises

chill pill buddy..slumdog millionaire was factually very incorrect...Dharavi is a very safe and crime free slum...Indians don't abduct children and handicap them for begging..and communal fights are not that common as they portrayed....and slum kids don't have British accent.

Yeah, they might be assembly the third crane behind the tree there or could be moving some heavy material to the other side of the site.
