High-rise, high-density development is very efficient from an energy perspective and is far more sustainable than mid-rise or low-rise formats. A city of efficient towers is very sustainable.

The first one would be a nicer design... not too weird not too futuristics, blends well with the environment in Mumbai

I agree, and no wasted space. BUT, the foundations show a triangle so that is what will be built.

I don't think it will be about finance, it will be about politics if the tower struggles to rise.....DB realty is keeping their fingers crossed so it doesn't get screwed over by the future court rulings....over 2G scam

People who complain about the lack of pictures should seriously chill, the tower hasn't risen above ground yet so it's not that easy to take picture, the slow progress also makes it pointless to take random pictures that's exactly the same as the ones before.

You've got a point, but think of the 1WTC thread - years of hole photography and eager discussion. People love this stuff

But, there was a station, a bridge, towers and was easy to take pics.

The difference is 1 WTC is coming up in the middle of Manhattan surrounded by tall skyscrapers. While India Tower is coming up near Mumbai's historical district surrounded by 3-5 floor 1920's low rises only.

IMO the design of this tower is one of the best I've seen of new towers either being built or planned. Mumbai, you're so lucky. Can't wait to see this completed.
Cheers.

Got a question for our Indian members, does Mumbai suffer from unstable soil problems that many coastal cities have? I know Shanghai does because it's built on the Yangtze River Delta so the ground is soaking wet and supertalls have to have huge basements and deep piles to stay "buoyant" and stable.

I don't know about Mumbai in general, but the foundations for this tower were excavated to bedrock, so soil stability doesn't seem to be an issue.

Really? Wow. How are they able to get away with that without any public outcry or controversy? *Remembers the Okhta Tower in St. Petersburg*

I hope now you understand the reason why there is so little information about his tower. No info about this tower in any Indian newspaper or magazine. I guess only general Indians in SSC know about this tower. Because if it's out, it won't take much time for protests to start over any petty issue. Promoters fear this.
