[Budapest] Arena Plaza Mall

Arena Plaza Mall

Location:
Budapest

This fantastic retail development, to be located in the 8th district (Józsefváros), adjacent to the Eastern Railway Station (Keleti pu.), on Kerepesi út, one of the city’s main avenues, will combine the best shopping and entertainment elements. The mall will stand out in the market with its size, complexity of services and modern and unique tenant mix.

Description:
With some 180 000 sqm of built-up area, Arena Plaza Mall will provide excellent opportunities for both tenants and shoppers.
Spacious interiors and a simple circular design recall the shape of the former horse racing course.
Exclusive design and elegant interior decoration will distinguish Arena from the competitors.
A 10 000 sqm hypermarket, an electronics store and a grand scale fashion department store will anchor the ground and the first floor malls.
There will be a food court on the ground floor and extensive catering facilities on both floors.
Entertainment facilities will be located on the second floor.
Customer parking will be provided on two basement levels, for some 2800 cars.
To the front of the development, an extensive green park area will be created.

Tenure:
Freehold

Size:
65,000 sq m / 699,654 sq ft

Future...

Present status:

Photos are not so good, because its almost impossible to stop on a 4-laned "highway" and the security personel were pretty mean...

Well, I don't like projects of Plaza Centers Europe*, but it should be worse...

When I look at http://www.plazacenters.cz/ and I see where everywhere they are going to open their centers.. good thing is, that they are not the same..

Are there any visualisations, or exterieur photos of Aréna Plazza Mall?

*There should be nice park with pond and calm zone in my homecity centre, so that is why I don't like them

Yes, you are right Feyd-Rautha.

I dont like Plaza Centers either. Although they are a big firm and have constructed many shopping malls internationally and are israeli developer I find their other projects in Czech Republic cheap. At least from outside their malls are big boxes without any visual appeal. And the materials are used are not very good. I find that they tend to construct just outside of city centers where their boxes and cheap materials will not matter. And based on the construction images, it looks like another box. But who knows. Maybe this project will be better. I like the interior.

Good luck to Budapest!

Not compared to America. And the design looks very American and tasteless.

In and around New England, there are some bearable places that have some culture. Although I didn't like NYC - the streets were dark because the skyscrapers block the sunlight.

But in the suburbian village where I live in, life is incredibly boring...unless you like American TV (Pfft), or like to drive around with SUVs.

Westend is still better than Duna Plaza, Mammut I-II, Árkád, Polus Center, Lurdy ház, Campona, Savoya park...etc...

Yeah... they are nothing special, are they? Árkád is ok I think but doesn't impress me much. Duna Pláza is horrible outside and inside as well (Árkád looks acceptable inside at least). Pláza Centers has no taste at all in my oppinion.

After the outlets opened, im not even going close to these ugly things. Luckily all the good movies are being played at "art" cinemas anyways (Puskin,Művész,Odeon etc.)

My personal favorite is Urania, but I prefer MOM Park if I'd like to see a movie played only in Multiplexes...
