That is a huge problem, what if Merrill decides not to buy or lease WTC 3. Another 1/2 year wasted. Silverstein and ML should of done this years ago.

Yeah but that means we'll see a 3MSF+ 3WTC with lots of extra tall trading floors, three buildings over 400 meters tall right next to each other, one 300m building, three or four others within the area over 800 feet tall, and five or six other skyscrapers with over 50 floors within an area very close to the WTC. The area will look better than ever, and I am sure that if they really go for a larger 3WTC, even if ML decides not to take their bait, I bet they will build the bigger version, because perhaps by then going back to the old version would just cause more problems, and you see, the thing is, I don't think a smart money man like Larry would modify the size of a massive tower to make it even bigger unless he was sure he knew what he was doing, meaning in secret he maybe ML has already made a deal with him to move in and they are keeping it quiet for now, or maybe he has some other plan since he always wanted extra space, you know.

No matter what, NY wins, and we'll still be getting a totally unmatched office complex, with ot without ML.

I for one can't wait to see what we'll see in a few weeks or months when whatever hapens happens.

I wonder how much gap there'll be between WTC 3 and WTC4 because it looks well narrow and sunlight can bearly get into the gap.

There's real progress going on in digging at WTC 2, I can see several bars sticking out of the ground, either that they drilled it in already, I have no idea...

those bars are the old foundation piles of the former path station. They will be removed during the excavation

Apart from the slurry wall, no. They're still working on the general excavation for tower 2 and on the caissons for tower 3 & 4. I think the caissons should be ready within a month, maybe two. Than we'll also see the first concrete for the foundation

How deep do caissons go underground for WTC 3 and 4?

judging the size of the excavator I think 10 to 15 feet. Most caisson holes should already have reached their final depth, unless the construction manager has a nasty surprise for us.

Calling this project massive would be an understatment. It woun't take any longer of any other office skyscraper complex of its scale, but that's hard to say because there's nothing like it in this world. Everything will be topped out by 2011 and everything will be 100% opened by 2012 or 2013. We thought the old WTC was unmatched, and now we are getting something even better.

Thanx man it's impossible to see these details from the webcam. Anyway comparing depth of WTC2 foundation depth over a week has been a good progress. (look where north wall and WTC2 ground meets)

Some serious digging went on yesterday at WTC2, and those blue mats at WTC3 came off.
