You've got my vote! Actually banning him may be too nice.

The plot for WTC Tower 2 is about 80% done but they are a few weeks behind, though it doesn't matter since construction on the tower will start in a few weeks. It was slated to start this month. They now say WTC Tower 3 will have over 3MSF of office space and will be over 400 meters tall.

They're just enlarging the old design, correct? I know that many of you liked Tower 3 so it'd be a shame to see a total redesign.

From what I hear, it is bigger and taller but some of the same elements still remain. I am perhaps the biggest fan of WTC Tower 3 so I hope it still will have the same sort of presence on the skyline, just bigger and even better.

I have seen you mention that a couple of times. I am all for that. Any idea of height? Will it be something as tall as Freedom Tower? It would be a stunning site to see two towers over 1,700 feet in next to each other.

No come on now. But they say it will be over 400 meters tall and much bigger than the Freedom Tower. Time will tell what we see. I bet we'll find out very soon. I guess the base will be MASSIVE.

What are they exactly doing at the WTC 3 site, you can't see that much going on there on earthcam?

They are still digging out the caissons for the foundation. First they drill holes in it with the beige or the yellow rock drillers, than they put explosives in it to break the rocks and than they excavate it. The work is taking much longer as planned since Tower 3 its hight is increased. Due to the extra hight the foundation caissons need to be bigger and stronger.
I think we'll see the first concrete pours in the caissons within a month or two.

If this actually going to be a 1,700ft tall building or is it going to be a 1,300ft building with a 400ft antenna stuck on top like FT? Hopefully it will be the former but I fear it will be the latter.

^Sounds like yet another stab at the Freedom Tower, which will have a spire that might have an antenna enclosed (but that's not what this thread is about). If it was a serious question then it started off grammatically incorrect, but overall was completely pointless as no one has seen the redesign for Tower 3. Let your dis-like of the Freedom Tower out in the thread for the...Freedom Tower.

I really hope they don't screw up 3WTC, I'd rather have 3WTC in it's current form than a crappy redesign that completely obliterates the design features I love.

Freedom tower now is about 415 meters high to observation deck. Number 2 is about 390 meters. so to make #3 more (400 and up) - will look a bit out of place. they should raise all of them to keep the design as it was produced.

The first shot is about 6 months old It shows the excavation of the sites for tower 3 & 4. But thanks for posting anyway
Looks like they reached the final depth of the tower 2 hole.

Those gray columns sticking out of the ground in the 2nd photo, are they remnants of the old wtc?
