They'd better not call it WTC6. The Performing Arts Center should be called WTC6 (it's not an office building, but then again neither was the original WTC3).

I have no idea why they keep adding renderings and updates for 99 Church Street on the official wtc.com website. It's not even adjacent to the complex, much less on it.

It'll still be nice to have a greater supply of hotel space in downtown though, whatever it's called. The Millenium Hotel is over $300 a night.

99 Church is being developed by none other than... (drumroll)... Larry Silverstein. That is why it's on the WTC website.

It should be 6WTC, its stupid that to date there isn't one. There is talk of a skyscraper on the PAC site being as thats moving down the road, that could be 6WTC, would be good to have more than 7 WTC's, 99 Church Street could be 8WTC? Just a thought. Good updates, is the Deutsche Bank Building actually going down? They want it to be down by the end of the year they said, not long really.

There have been a few delays, but yes, it is being dismantled.

I'm curious as to how they're excavating right now. They already took out the dirt access ramp to the east bathtub so no dump trucks can go on site. Do they have a conveyor system on site or are they loading the spoil into containers and having cranes hoist it out?

Has there been a debate to whether the spire on 200 greenwich is officially a spire or not? cos of its unusual triangular shaped spire.

You mean on 2 WTC? IMO the triangular part at least completes the shape of the roof, so it is part of the structural height.

I agree with Tower 2 being absolutely beautiful, but why is everyone hating on Tower 4. I love the simple design of the building. IMO a more overstated design would be too much for the site, making the whole project too busy visually. The ugliest part of the development has to be the weird geometric thing on top of the Freedom Tower. The spire is fine, but can someone tell me what that other thing on the roof is. Personally, it takes away some of the beauty from the FT.

i just think tower 4 is bland, but nonetheless beautiful, someone who thinks tower 2 is ugly is visually impaired, it is beautiful, my favorite building of all time possibly, the freedom tower isnt bad though

I think the thing holding the spire doesn't go well with it either.

This one i like personally better it fits in better, but this is an 2005 version of the site.

IMO, the present concept is sound for all 3 of these office towers, and these are to all be massive office towers, sure tower 4 is of a more "simple" design, but, at almost 1000', (i don't know the rentable floorarea, but it's got to be at least 2 million sq. ft.) it WILL be seen on the skyline from almost every angel. but i also consider it's placement in the urban context or surroundings, and this tower helps blend the taller towers into the Chase Manhatten tower cluster. as well as paying homage to the large simple street wall of the originals, and the new 7 WTC with its set back, as a building, it ties into the rest of the complex, ("simply") with it's own dignity and density.

The only thing i would change......., is to add 20 floors to tower 2, making it the apex of the cluster..!

This is another design of that round thing at the base of the spire, looks like chef's hat compressed, so there's been 3 designs for this or even more.

There have been more than 3. From what I've been told, some have not been released to the public. I am not even sure if the current one is what they are planning.
