What is the water gushing in the second picture? Looks like they sprung a major leak!

Still looks like a considerable amount of work to do to bring it down. What will replace it?

The Deutsche Bank Building will be replaced by 5WTC.
It was said earlier in the year that it would definitely be gone by the end of this year, but as usual, its still there, hasnt shifted at all and they aren't going to be able to demolish the remaining 26 storeys even if they started now.

But back to these, looks like a lot of progress is being made with 3 and 4 WTC, can see plenty of contruction.
These should have their own threads by now, now all are at the stage they are at.

Superstructure work on Tower 4 starts in December.
They say in the video that Tower 4 has core walls protecting the employees inside.
Does this mean that it is a bit like the original (tube structure)?

No, just like the FT and many other new buildings Tower 4 will have a concrete core and concrete+steel perimeter columns. The concrete core only protects the employees during a emergency evacuation. Concrete can handle the force and heat of a fire or an explosion much better than steel. This gives the employees much more time to evacuate.

there are no steel core, is there? at least not as I've heard. It would cause a disaster under heat.

Silverstein's construction team is mobilized and preliminary construction is underway on Towers 3 and 4. Obviously, Tower 4 is somewhat ahead of Tower 3. The Port Authority construction workers are working double shifts and should turn over the Tower 2 site this month to the Silverstein's team, meaning that Tower 2 will be officially under construction as well. By November, no doubt, 4 supertalls will be under construction, but keep in mind it will take long before they look anything like Freedom Tower and Tower 1 will be reaching for the skyline likely long before any of them.

This church was also destroyed, what's the plan for it's replacement?
Or is everyone busy at the WTC site?

isn't there any road between this church and the trade center? looks awfully close in distance. It looks like the church is actually within the ground zero area; maybe it is.

^the liberty street is between the plot where the church was and the actual trade center site. The curch was about 20m apart from the WTC south tower. There are plans to build it within the liberty street park infront of the planned WTC5 building.

You're right, the Port Authority set up a new website to keep up with WTC progress. It lists the major milestones on there and 130 liberty st. is going to be completely done in Q3 2009.

Officially the ramp will be removed in 1Q 2009. Keep in mind in August, the PA said they'd remove it in September. Then it got pushed back to December. Now after the Oct 1 report, they are saying 1Q '09. That's anytime between Jan 1-Mar 30.

Ya gotta keep an open mind when it comes to the timeline the PA/Silverstein releases.

On the other hand it looks like thanks to double shifts around 2WTC site, PA will turn it over to Silverstein in early 09. Rather then in Aug or Sep 09, which was reported in the summer. I guess all that money the PA was looking at in penalties were some nice motivation to speed things up.
