Too bad they killed the opening roof of the hub, but at least they kept the design almost the same as the original design.

Your disappointed over the removal of the movement of the shell? The shell would have only opened once a year, it is not a big loss at least in my book.

I always thought the opening shell was superfluous. It's fine without it.

Does anyone know who the GC for WTC2 is?

if the shell opened, pigeons would be able to bet in. When it rained, It would get wet a little wet, I'm sure. Bad idea in the first place

i know which one you're talking about- i see that too. 4 wtc is terrible. It doesn't fit in, and it is incredibly boxy for a building of it's height. To give you an idea, It's about 10 floors taller than bank of america in nyc without the spire

Part of the Freedom Tower core went up another level today. The northern part of the core is still behind the rest (so behind that you really can't even see it) because parts of it will be cantilevered and transfer structures need to be built before it can jump up.

Nice catch.

Looks like the South Core rose about 10-15 feet higher. I hope someone can get an up closestreet level picture to judge just how high the core is now.

That's some good progress! The more it rises, the more eager I get to see more steel rise.

I hope soon, there's been progress on the southern core since it closed.

Here's a new rendering of 30 Park Place, which is 80 floors/over 900 feet tall.

I wonder if the tower in the background is a poor rendering of one of the WTC towers or something else.

I think we're looking east so it's not a WTC tower. Might that be that Ghery tower?

Behind the building is the Woolworth building. The building to the right is 10 Barclay Street.

Could the management explain the rationale behind "locking" a thread - strikes me as making the whole village pay for the actions of the village idiot!
