IS the temporary road being held up by scaffold or is that going to be mud packed road surface. I heard they are breaking up the 'superblock' of the original WTC and wtc.com takes too long to load on this slow as hell internet connection

If you're talking about the access ramp that will be coming down in December or January depending on the weather and is being held up by steel trusses.

If you're talking about the Vesey Street structure that is, I believe a cantilever structure that will be dismantled before the Freedom Tower steel structure goes above grade.

If you're talking about Greenwich then that will be built as a concrete structure over vents and utility access over the subway line and that won't happen until they are done doing the underpinning work.

^ I'm pretty sure that they only needed that white crane to install some heavy steel beams that the red crane could not lift. The progress it made for a few days was great.

They will be installing tower cranes at the WTC Tower 4 site in a few days.

Starting on Saturday. I hope someone can get out there and document its erection because I doubt it will show up well on Earthcam.

I bet Joe Woolhead will be there. Don't worry, I'm sure there will be enough coverage, and hopefully, we'll be able to see part of the crane(s) on the cams.

The 1WTC thread has some recent pictures, but nothing spectacular yet. Won't belong before we see some real action there, though.

Yes make a separate thread for each tower! I thought tower cranes were being erected on Tower 4's site today?

I don't think so now. I think it turns out they got rid of one of the mobile cranes and replaced it with a bigger crane near the corner of the site, but I doubt it will long before T4 will need a crane since it's going faster than T2 and T3.
When they installed the first two tower cranes at the Freedom Tower, the site looked like: http://www.wtc.com/uploads/images/71...March-2007.jpg
I know that Tower 4 is progressing well, but from the pictures I've seen over a month ago, they only had a small pocket or two of rebar there and some concrete poured, some with more rebar sticking out of it, but it seemed like the outline of the core was almost complete if you had a bird's eye view. I wonder how it has progressed since then.

So they removed the crawler crane at the WTC 4 site over the weekend.

They replaced it with this shorter but heftier crane.
