oops the image was there yesterday.
Its better to post images by uploading them to image hosting sites rather than hot linking from the original source.

OMG!

I think the middle aged men in the white shirts would be a better option for the manchirevula skyline.

nah im sure they'll come up with something special built to international standards, although the inclusion of sobha developers in this consortium does make me worry....

Well. whatever. at this point. neither the REL or any indian real estate giant has any experience at constructing any sort of supertall let alone 100 story. at this point, its still a pipe dream. I dont see this one getting u/c in 2008 any way. maybe like 2010 at the speed REL, hafeez are going at.

yeah you could be right, but do you believe these guys would have spent this much money on a plot of land that they never intended to use to its maximum potential??
I believe it will get built, but like you im disappointed at the speed of progress...if anyone should be pushing this project to run faster it should be sobha developers for this is a landmark project for them.

Post Two towers!?

‘Lord’ Foster to design towers in city’s IT park

Quote:
Hyderabad, Jan. 22: World-renowned architect Norman Foster will build the 100-storeyed tower of the Anil Dirubhai Ambani group and an iconic tower in the proposed IT park of BPTP in the city. These are the first projects in India to be undertaken by ‘Lord’ Foster, who restored the Reichstag in Berlin and built the Millennium Bridge in London.

Officials and the real estate industry are excited at the prospect since buildings designed by Mr Foster, termed the greatest living urban stylist, usually become major tourist attractions. "Be it bridges, museums or offices, his designs are world famous," said Mr B.P. Acharya, managing director, Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation. "Countries showcase them as iconic structures."

Both the projects in the city are coming up in lands auctioned by the APIIC and representatives of the firm have already held talks with its officials on the BPTP project. A senior APIIC official said though the area was meant to be a ‘mixed zone’, the promoters had indicated that an IT Park would come up there. "The tower would be part of the park," he added. Reliance Energy, which won the bid for the 100-storied tower at Machirevula, also informed the APIIC that it was engaging Mr Foster. It urged the corporation to hand over the entire 90 acres so that the architect could come up with a grand design.

As per the earlier agreement, the APIIC was to hand over 30 acres for the construction of the tower immediately and the rest of the land in phases. The Millau Viaduct Bridge that links France with Spain was designed by Mr Foster and Partners. It is said to be the tallest such bridge in the world with some columns as big as the Eiffel Tower. Other constructions include the Century Tower in Japan, the British Museum and the London City Hall.
