Some Tramways have to wait for a while in MARQ. This fact won't allow L2 to have the frequencies this line should have. With Serra Grossa's tunnel, that won't happen anymore.

The Serra Grossa hill tunnel will end in the area next to the small beach on the left of that tiny port.

Indeed.

On the article (in Spanish), you will find a video of the tram in tests: http://www.laverdad.es/alicante/2013...306261718.html

I am using L4 since 5 days: Please accelerate the speed of travelling. It takes much more than 30 minutes from St. Juan beach to the city center. Plus the frequnency of 30 minutes is not adequate for an inner city tram. Also that services stops at around 23:00 makes the system with its super expensive inner city tunnel not very attractive.

L4 isnt very useful.

There are 3 city bus lines in L4 area:

09: http://www.subus.es/Lineas/MapaMaps.asp?linea=MAS09
21: http://www.subus.es/Lineas/MapaMaps.asp?linea=ALC21
22: http://www.subus.es/Lineas/MapaMaps.asp?linea=ALC22

21 and 22 have 4-5 buses / hour

Currently thereīs not much that can be done, concerning the frequencies: thereīs the stretch between La Isleta and Sangueta stops in single track, and thatīs a problem since that sector is shared by three lines.

What could be done to solve it, FGV canīt afford it, at the moment.

As for the speed, I guess that could be done, yes. Ask FGV though. Maybe, seen as youīre not Spanish, theyīll bother answering you, but I wouldnīt bet money on it (and no, itīs not any better if a local asks the same, because itīs been demanded once and again, with no reasonable answer).

The reasons why would be too long to explain and too much of an off-topic here.

But 4L is really not usefull at the moment. You want to go to the port area you better stay on board until Mercado and walk down again instead to risk waiting at Sangueta for 30 Minutes.

The missing second track between La Isleta and Sangueta*really hurts. Furthermore it seems that construction has been stopped!

I wonder how many folks get confused by the fact there is both a 4L and L4, and those are different lines? Well I guess it doesn't matter anymore since Alicante tram is becoming leaner and more austere.

Tram number 4244 in tests, entering Virgen del Remedio stop, on the new line L2 (Luceros-Sant Vicent del Raspeig).
One month left to the FINAL opening of line L2, and counting.
About time!!! The line was finished two years ago but hasnīt opened yet, due to political problems...

This is an interesting picture.
We can see two trams class 4200.

Bottom right, we see one of them stopped at Goteta stop. Thatīs on L2, so itīs testing.

Top left, we see another one, on a L3 or L4 service, going through the junction points on its way to the tunnel to Luceros, its terminus.

The picture has been taken from the Serra Grossa hill:

One tram each 8 minutes at peak hours, to start with.

That's great news for Alicante.

Once L2 is open, what will be the combined rush-hour frequency on the Luceros-MARQ section (L1/L2/L3/L4)?

Now in rush hour there are 7 tramways per hour (2 L1, 3 L3 and 2 L4), adding L2 we have 11 tramvays per hour (2 L1, 4 L2, 3 L3 and 2 L4), 15 in rush hour wich means a tramway every 4 minutes in underground section (2 L1, 8 L2, 3 L3 and 2 L4).
