True true. They need proper and designated lane. When buses and trams are stuck in traffic jams they fall behind schedule and, because this means that more people will be waiting at the next stops, they fall even further behind schedule leading to bunching and compounding delays....Anyway, how much we talk also, I would say, it brings nothing. Expect nothing is gonna change in Penang in 20 years time. No tram. No MRT. No proper bus lane. What we have is to see all vehicles at the road side in 'suka hati' mode ~

Hehe, since Penang is known as turtle island. So, traffic is like turtle speed in traffic jam, development is like turtle crawl (by compare to KL/Iskandar), etc.

- This is to provide free bus service all over Penang state at certain hours

- The proposed operation hour of such free bus all over bus will be at these hours:

- 6 am till 9 am, as well as 4 pm till 8 pm

From Rapid Penang website:
- 80 new buses to arrive from Dec'12 till Apr'13 with 6 CCTVs on bus.

I think, if above 2 approaches can combined, then it can help to reduce some vehicles moving in Penang during peak hours.

I like the above ideas.

I felt the major reason why penangites do not use PUBLIC transports have to do with travel time and convenience. Yes I agreed transport cost is a factor also.
