الدوحة الراية: بدأت خلال الأيام الماضية الأعمال الانشائية لبناء أكبر جامع في الدولة، ويشرف علي أعمال البناء المكتب الهندسي الخاص التابع للديوان الأميري، ويحمل الجامع الجديد اسماً مؤقتاً يدعي جامع الدولة .

وتشير المعلومات الي أن تصميم الجامع يحمل طابعاً قطريا خالصاً ويتميز برحابته وقبابه التي يتعدي عددها اكثر من 90 قبة وسيتم بناؤه وفقاً لأحدث ما وصل اليه العلم في الهندسة يذكر أن الموقع الانشائي للجامع يقع مقابل مبني هيئة الاذاعة والتلفزيون.

was going to post this but the website was off i knew about this before they put it in the news i also know the location exactly and you should change the title to under construction becus IT IS they already started construction since a month if you whant i will post a picture of its location using google earth

I`m not sure where was that? if you mean in the west by then its not, because in the article it says "in front of the TV and Radio station".

SMEC has been awarded a contract for construction supervision services for the culturally significant State Mosque at Al-Khuwair in Doha, the capital of the State of Qatar.


The mosque will be built under the patronage of the Government of Qatar. This is one of several current projects SMEC is undertaking for the Government and our excellent track record on an ongoing building project as well as effective post-submission negotiations proved to be a catalyst in placing SMEC as the front runner to win this prestigious project.

The building will be adorned with traditional Islamic architectural elements and the distinctive domed roof structure will be a landmark building in Doha. It will have a total built up area of about 19,550 square metres on three levels with a land area of 175,000 square metres. When completed in about 18 months, it will be able to accommodate more than 10,000 worshipers. The development also includes infrastructure works (roads, water, electricity, etc.) and will also be the first State funded project in Doha to utilise an underground electrical substation.

The State Mosque is part of a growing portfolio of SMEC projects in Qatar which is the company’s regional headquarters for the Middle East.

halawala is right that area is high a littel and huge too its gigantic ( btw , i pass by that almost every friday if you whant a pic of the area i might try to get one if its not dark )
