Not yet.

And some more photos on Lyulin A5 by FloatingShift:

You're just way too Strumatic for us, Radi. We'll never be so Strumatic to be worthy of posting on your videos.

I must think of it´s best definition first. -Radi Click

Sorry for the size of the pic, but in lower resolution it won't be visible ...

So this is all the missing ~115 km. of Trakia Motorway [A1], that are currently under construction between Stara Zagora and Karnobat. One can see the trace that has been recently dug out on lot2 and lot3 ... Lot 4 is still behind, but it's breaking ground ceremony was just less than a month ago.

And a small update by Senna from gtsofia.info of the works on Lyulin motorway

Daskalovo junction

Further down the road towards Sofia

The 3rd tunnel that's the least ready section on the whole length

The 1st tunnel is completed and needs some internal finishes and covering

And the rest of the road towards Sofia

Bulgaria Opens 31 KM of Maritsa Motorway

Bulgarian Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, officially opens Saturday a 31-km section of the Maritsa Motorway between the towns of Harmanly and Lyubimets.

The new road junction near Novo Selo, providing direct connection with the motorway to Greece, also opens Saturday.

The cost of construction works is estimated at BNG 36 M and it is financed by the State budget.

The contractors are "Patni Stroeshi" (Road Construction), Plovdiv and "Moststroy" (Bridge Construction), part of the "Holding Patishta" (Roads Holding) company while the construction control is carried out by "Patinvestengineering" (Road Invest Engineering).

In March, Borisov promised the section will open by August 15, but construction was delayed due to landslides and additional works at Novo Selo.

There are 67 km still be build. The Maritsa Motorway runs between the village of Orizovo, near Bulgaria's second largest city of Plovdiv and the "Capitan Andreevo" cross-border point with Turkey. The motorway is part of the trans-European corridor from Dresden, Germany to Istanbul and part of the trans-European motorway connecting Central and Eastern Europe with the Middle East and Asia. The motorway will connect to the Trakiya Motorway near Orizovo.

Regional Minister, Rosen Plevneliev, will accompany Borisov during the official opening ceremony.
To be precise(according to Dnevnik) the opened sections are between km. 72+940 and km. 89+600 including interchange at km. 70+620; between km. 89+600 and km. 99+820 and between km. 108+510 and km. 111+980 including road junction between road ІІ-80 [E 85] from Novo selo and Maritsa Motorway.

I'm confused. The section between Harmanli and Lyubimets is only some 16 kilometers long, and has been opened to traffic at least 2 years ago according to Google Earth imagery. The only thing that appears U/C in 2009 was a short extension across the Maritsa River near Harmanli.

It's really confusing. I know that some part of Maritsa was really opened by the ex-prime minister, but only one of the lanes or shortly after that one of the lanes was closed for additional works which were completed now.

And the whole 31 km. section is from Harmanli to Svilengrad as far as i get it + some extra 3 kilometers after that.

And btw, Here is the remaining part of motorway between the connection with Trakia at Orizovo and the already finished part between Harmanli and Svilengrad. The tenders for its remaining lots must be started very shortly. it's financing is secured by the OP Transport of the EU.

Here's a google earth imagery of the place where the Section ends now. It shows b/w photo from 2008 of the new junction with II-80, the new bridge over Maritsa and the direct link with the Novo Selo/Kapitan Petko Vojvoda border check point with Greece still u/c back then...

"Historical Imagery can be newer

We mentioned it back in February of this year, but it's important to realize that the newest imagery in Google Earth can often be found in this historical imagery feature.

Google is very careful about the imagery that they release to the default layer. If new imagery is good (but not good enough), they'll often it put it in the historical imagery layer." http://www.gearthblog.com/blog/archi...gle_earth.html

why is the cmarea shaking so much? Can't he hold the camera still or is the motorway not smooth? I don't really like the looks of the new Ljulin motorway, the finished part. It seems to be really finished but the asphalt doesn't look that great, it is not shiny and does not look as modern as the Struma motrway, when it was new. the markings look ok. I guess the motorway wont be that great and the Struma motorway will even now outperform it when it comes to quality, the 2 laned E-79 nationalroad which is the best road I have seen in bulgaria performs out the Ljulin motorway aswell, judging on the videos, except the man can not hold a camera.

And i don't like that the in the middle of the motorway they add earth and probably planted grass. It should have been stones or concrete, would look way better than grass but it seems only one motorway is modern.
