This route is severely flawed. First, it should run via Kerch with a Kerch Strait Bridge, not via Rostov-na-Donu. Second, it should run (much) closer to the Black Sea coast via Varna and Constanta.

Well, we have another map, but it has no connection between Georgia and Russia (maybe because of the recent war).
In Romania the path follows the Pan-European Corridor IX and that means it will be co-financed by the EU. Plus, A2 towards Constanţa should be completed in 2012. These are the reason, I think, for the chosen route.
About Kerch or Rostov-na-Donu, I think the main goal of a such a large scale project would be to connect the main cities around the Black Sea, not to create the shortest route around it. Plus, we should not forget the political issues; I don't think Ukraine would accept very easy a motorway linking directly Russia with Crimea, which has a pro-Russian majority.
How about Bulgaria, guys? Do you think the north-south connections would be useful for you?

Are you sure that this is Romanian map, because Romania doesn't consider Kosovo as country

P.S.

This is not trolling, I'm just curious about origin of the map

Well, who knows? It's a map posted by ionut on the Romanian forums, it is taken from a newspaper article and I don't know its exact source. However, I don't think this is relevant, but you are right, officially for Romania Kosovo is still a Serbian province. But please, let's not start a debate about it.

OK. Point taken. But please, let's not turn it into an ethnic/national issue.

Coming back to the Black Sea Ring Motorway, do you think it can be done or it's just another political mambo jumbo phantasmagoria?

I will just give my personal opinion, if we don't consider that the most important north-south connection is not in the project. For me, the most useful to build first would be Rousse-St.Zagora. Not that the connection of Varna-Bourgas-Istanbul is not important, but Rousse-St.Zagora is very important to connect those two cities first. IMHO Northern Bulgaria needs urgently this and with the presence of Bucharest next to Rousse, it's even more useful.

I see no real reason for the Silistra-(something near) Yambol route, unless we become suddenly very rich and just want to cover Bulgaria with 10 000km of highways

Bugarash, let's not pollute this thread please

Thanks. That is exactly what I thought, that map is rather stupid. Excepting Romania, where the map concur with the Pan-European Corridor IX (and hence co-financed by the EU), the rest of it is just a stupid drawing made by some (maybe Russian) painter. Thank you for clearing it up.
However, that is still a debate on the Romanian forums.

Don't overreact, please. Maybe, he was trying to make a joke. All people here are friendly!

Djurizmo, nenea_hartia, guys, I have posted a second map in a separate link, because it's too big. Obviously, it's a greek map.

What a racist question, Verso!Anyway, Romanians and Bulgarians are whitish. Turkish people are whitish also. It's general misconception that they are all darkish. There are just few exceptions that cause wrong impression. Gypsies are brownish, after all they come form India.

@ PhirgataZFs1694: thank you so much! The Romanian version of the map has a very low resolution, so it was difficult to see it clear. Please, allow me to post it on the Romanian forums.

But Ethnic/National issues are the reason why this Black Sea Ring Motorway will never be built.

Turkey? Play nice with Armenia.

Russia? Leave Georgia alone.

Kosovo? It should be a country.

The point is, nationalities still matter in your part of the world and will continue to for sometime to come.
