Nice, it looks like the hill moves forward and "covers" the viaduct bit by bit.

I thought cloverleaves went out of fashion by the early '80s? Something about merging issues...?

It should have parallel carriages to allow transit to move without merging problems.

Old-school symmetric cloverleafs are less used nowadays, they are usually adapted forms like half-turbines to accommodate significant turn-off traffic flows.

The traffics on these roads are not very high, so I don't think there will be merging problems now! For sure situation in 20 years will be different, so just then the cloverleaf can be transformed into a more difficult interchange with direct links for the turning flows.

Not on the I5 National road. The pictures are taken north of the interchange, facing south. Here's what it looked like before the construction started.

The motorway is the road from left to right. And it has emergency lanes.

Current AADT between the current beginning of Hemus motorway A2 at Yana interchange and Sofia's Ring Road, where the new section of A2 is being built, is 20000.

I had one of these! I really loved it and kept looking at it from different perspectives. Soon, hopefully, if they decide to create a new edition, the thick red lines will be considerably more.

The struma motorway is being under construction. Members of the Bulgarian forum report unidentified mashines, digging with laser and s on. Other members have reported the construction of the asphalt base with special futoristic materials. The expectations are very high and this time the section will become even better. If someone is intersted, he can pass by the E-79 nationalroad til Dupnica and see for himself the new ways of digging with lasers and the installation of the water pipes, that look like being from a different planet.

Now seriously, the motorway is being under construction and people have reported how they are digging arround the Diakovo lake.

If the markings would be 1 cm thick you would curse them every time you would pass with your cars wheels over them. They are maximum 1-2 mm thick. Plus, they are not such a big deal, I've seen them in many parts of Romania too (we have them even in Arad and Timisoara urban areas). Also, take a look at the markings on new Polish motorways...

You are wrong. These machines are not suitable to build roads. They are not shiny enough.
