everyone would like to see photos from Hemus, we are extremely in lack of them, and it seems to be really interesting motorway!

So? That's like halfway through Switzerland or the Netherlands.

they will continue building the awesome Stuma motorway very soon, finally, I found an article and the EU will start giving the moeny and the motorway construction will start from Dolna Dykania to Dupnica and from the Greek Border to Sandanski which is a bigger town 20 km away of the border.

Any tunnels and viaducts? I doubt on section near Greek border, but on the northern section? There are some hills there, but main road doesn't use tunnels.
Why don't they first build sections near Sofija?

Because it aktually begins 5 kilometers away from Sofia, keber they are as we are speaking constructing the Ljulin motorway which will lead from sofia to the Struma motorway junction. there might be small bridges but I don´t think there will be big bridges or tunnels, I havn´t read the whole article because of lazyness. Oh, there might be some tunnels near dupnica because the motorway has to pass rather steep hills there so I think there might be some tunnels, I hope they will work extremly fast so that probably by the end of next year we will have 70 km of motorway til Sofia, the 10 km blagoevgrad expressway + Dupnica - Sofia on the Struma motorway, would be perfect. How do you know the giographical characteristics of this region so well? And for the people outside Sofia it is better to have sections near their towns instead of sofia.

No motorway can be built in 1 year...especially if there are tunnels or bridges on it.

Of course it can be. You just need enough money. And workers working 24-hour/7-days per week. And motorway should not be too complicated -> easy geology with not too long tunnels and low and short viaducts.

It is common here to build roads like that, hopefully they will do that with the Struma motorway, too.

Keber, this mainroad about which you talked is one of the few smoothest roads in europe, it is smoother and flatter than even the Struma motorway itself, it is apsolutely supersmooth

it would cost absolutely too much and wouldn't be refundable. we've been building our motorways really fast, but not that fast, so i know what i'm talking about in one year you can build maybe 20 km of motorway with max of maybe some 700 m of tunnels, even less.

btw, it yould be great to connect Struma with Sofia because current situation is a little bit stupid with interruption.

and what are the plans for SOfia's bypass? is it going to be upgraded into full profile motorway? will it have new route or current will be upgraded?

No but trust me, I have driven on MANY nationalroads, and the E79 between Dolna Dykania and Dupnica is apsolutely prefect. Let´s hope they will be able to built the motorway in one year, the sofia bypass wil be fourlaned but there will be a motorway which gives fast connection form te epople comming from serbia and romania to the Struma motorway, that´s the Ljulin motorway. I fthere will be a tunnel it will be 200 m long only.

If it's as smooth as you say, I don't think cars could actually hold traction!
