I'm not aware of that image for the Philharmonic redevelopment - the extension at the back. That will bring some animation to that side of the building, and to Myrtle street.
Just behind that is the fabulous new restaurant 'The Art School' which is aiming for a michelin star.

Anfield Village | £260m Regeneration of the Football Stadium and Surrounding Area | On Site

THE AVENUE

It is proposed to create a wide, high quality avenue called 96 Avenue in honour of the victims of the Hillsborough disaster. It would link the Walton Breck Road High Street with Stanley Park. The avenue would improve access for local residents to the park and connections between the Liverpool FC stadium, park and shops/facilities on Walton Breck Road; it would be a major focal point for the area. The route would be largely closed to vehicles and might be used to host both match-day and non match-day events such as festivals and markets.

ANFIELD SQUARE

A public square, with high quality landscaping, would be created adjacent to the stadium at the junction of the new avenue and Walton Breck Road. The square would act as a buffer between residents and the stadium and would also be a focal point for match-day and non match-day activity, plus commercial and retail activity.

TRAINING HOTEL

The proposed training hotel would be situated on the new Anfield Square and would anchor the wider programme of general improvement to Walton Breck Road High Street. It would have 100 rooms and create 50 jobs, with the capacity to offer training to ten people at any given time in facets of the hospitality trade. It would be operated by a local company, Isla Gladstone, and supported by a local charity, Positive Futures, to ensure it maximises opportunities and benefits for the local community. It is anticipated that a leading hotel brand would also be sought to assist in the hotel’s operation and marketing.

BUSINESS PREMISES

New commercial and office premises would also be built in Anfield Square to create the environment for new enterprises. It is anticipated that Your Housing Group would be one of the anchor tenants for this new commercial space and that their presence would attract other complementary businesses, creating enterprise, employment and training opportunities. Talks are being held with possible end users. New commercial and residential premises would be built along the Walton Breck Road High Street and

Oakfield Road to replace the current sub-standard buildings. The opportunity to accommodate existing businesses in the new premises is being explored.

THE STADIUM

In October 2012, Liverpool Football Club confirmed its preference was to stay and expand Anfield stadium subject to detailed feasibility studies and the community and home owners’ support. Subject to residents’ support and planning approval, the club would wish to expand its Main Stand, followed by potential redevelopment of its Anfield Road stand.

PARK HUB

The Park Hub would be a built in Stanley Park and could potentially offer accommodation for a variety of activities and uses, including a café and changing and toilet facilities for park users. There is interest from a number of commercial partners to develop a food hub, providing training and education opportunities in food production, preparation and service. The hub would be designed so that it complemented improvements already made to the park. There is also commercial interest in a potential equestrian centre.

COMPLETION OF STANLEY PARK

A range of ideas to complete the restoration of Stanley Park are being suggested, including the improvement of historic routes through the park such as Dahlia Walk and Serpentine Walk. There is also a plan to redesign the Stanley Park car park so that it is better integrated into the park and can be used for other purposes.

ANFIELD COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL

The former school site on Priory Road is currently used for match day parking. The SRF recognises the important role that it plays for that use while identifying it as a potential development site, with a range of options from housing to commercial to consider.

Your Housing Group

Your Housing Group has already delivered more than 202 new and refurbished homes in the Anfield area in an investment programme worth more than £23m. It owns and manages more than 850 homes in the Anfield/Breckfield area in total. Work already undertaken includes the restoration of historic terraced homes and innovative refurbishment projects which have seen smaller traditional terraced houses combined to create larger quality family homes. A further investment of some £17m-plus is anticipated in coming years, including an investment in a proposed training hotel. The organisation is also responsible for supporting a range of community groups and projects in the area.

Keepmoat

Since 2005, some 15 hectares of land south of Walton Breck Road has been assembled transforming a largely derelict and undesirable place to live into a destination where real change is now being realised.

Keepmoat have to date completed three developments totalling 346 new energy-efficient homes with 52 more new homes under construction, all set in attractive, greener, safer housing environments with a total development value of over £41m. With the support of a successful Regional Growth Fund bid, proposals are currently being developed for concluding delivery of Keepmoat’s Masterplan for the wider area with a further phase of some 250 new homes. A new primary school and health centre have also been built.

FUNDING

Funding is already in place to deliver the Anfield village and Rockfield housing refurbishment project together with the demolition of acquired property. Keepmoat are also committed to continuing the new build programme at the parks into phases four and five of The Parks. The council, Your Housing Group and Liverpool Football Club are committed as a partnership to work together to piece together the funding needed to deliver the variety of projects.

Plans for Liverpool city centre development with its very own helipad

An apartment and leisure complex with its very own helipad could be coming to Liverpool.

The plans for 70-90 Pall Mall, near the city centre’s business district, include 366 flats, a multi-storey car park and ‘employment space’ which could be used for offices, bars, a restaurant and gym.

The development, which currently consists of a series of empty warehouse buildings, would also feature a rooftop helicopter landing pad.

There are already helipads in Merseyside at Haydock Park Racecourse, Aintree Racecourse and Liverpool John Lennon Airport but the Sunday ECHO understands this would be the first one for Liverpool city centre.

Planning permission has previously been granted for the site, which sits next to the Mercedez-Benz garage on the corner of Pall Mall and Leeds Street, for a 12-storey building including a hotel but work did not start in the end.

The Sunday ECHO has been told the latest plans, full details of which are due to be released by Liverpool council this week, come from different architects to the past designs.

They involve the “substantial demolition but part retention” of buildings on the land.

Of the 366 flats, 38 would be studio apartments, 69 one bedroom flats, 190 would have two bedrooms and 39 would be one bedroom “live/work apartments”.

A spokeswoman for property company Eddisons said on Friday that the site was under offer and had been on the market for offers over £2m.
