The reason that South Korea is building this tower is because it's an economic powerhouse that requires office space for purely practical reasons. North Korea can't even afford to heat their schools in the winter so the kids have to wear coats all day in class and there is virtually no industry or business in that nation so there's not a need for skyscrapers because there wouldn't be any tenants to put in them. I hope that changes someday.
I'm really glad to see this building going up after plans for other supertalls fell by the wayside. I also am impressed with the design. It's currently one of my favorite projects and I can't wait to see it topped out.

Seoul has restrictions on the height of skyscrapers, which, if I'm not mistaken, they can reach a maximum of 300 meters because of North Korea and the U.S. military base at Osan, 35 km south of Seoul, so for the national security. In fact, in cities such as Busan, skyscrapers proposed (but also already built) are higher than those of Seoul. Unfortunately there is North Korea u.u

I can't help but wondering how futuristic Pyongyang would look 50 years after the Northkorean regime would collapse...

The photo above is an old picture. It was taken almost 9 months ago.
It was taken early in the morning of cold winter. That is why the picture is so yellow and orange color tone.

Looks cool, at this stage it recalls a litle bit the old WTC ;] Don't know why, just a classic tower and in a way a romantic view.
