Hey Alluxi, I was in the same boat when I visited Korea and Asia for the first time few years ago. I thought Korean women were so beautiful and way more than Japanese women. However, when I moved to Japan, I was completely astonished. I literally was saying wow all the time. Every minute you'll see a stunning beautiful women passing by, it's just too much. I've been to over 20 countries, Japanese women are without question the most beautiful around. Those "ugly" Japanese men are so damn lucky grrrr!!

Sorry for driving this little off-topic but wanted to give my opinion.

Say what? I don't think you've seen Shiodome in real life? Man, you will probably faint. Korean buildings are definitely very modern but Tokyo's are just above that level. But when it comes to residential units or towers, I think Seoul's are a lot more pleasing to the natural eye.

Back on topic, I've always thought that there is something wrong with the cladding of this tower. It simply, sucks.

If only Tokyo would develop the waterfront and the banks of the spiderweb of channels and rivers that cross the city, than it would be another pair of hands!

There are numerous developments on the waterfronts in Tokyo , especially on the bay of Tokyo , many residential highrises are being built every year and all the area will be lifted by the Olympic Games developments in 2020 , Huge projects will see the light in Toyosu , Ariake , Shinonome , Shijomae and Tsukishima , before the end of the decade , including the New fish Market that will replace the older one in Tsukiji .

All those reclamation lands will be filled by the end of the decade and we'll see a new emerging skyline there !

Tokyo needs a supertall like Osaka, Busan, Incheon and now Seoul too the tallest kyscraper in Tokyo is 256 m, in Seoul there are 5 buildings that are taller than this (Seoul Three IFC, 284 m, KLI 63 Building, 264 m with antenna, Mokdong Hyperion Tower 1, 266 m with antenna, Tower Palace 2 Tower G, 264 m, Trade Tower, 257 m with antenna) and 3 U/C or on hold (Lotte World Tower, 556 m, Parc1 Tower A, 338 m, Parc1 Tower B, 271 m). I know, it is not a matter of height, but Tokyo could become more impressive with some high-rise more than 250-260 meters

It's Tokyo Skytree, and it's a tower, not a building. A building is where at least 50% of the area inside is habitable. Any less than 50% and it's a tower.

Hey bro, Tokyo has a world-class landmark, which is Tokyo Sky Tree. It's the second tallest structure in the world. Plus, you can't have everything. It's true that Seoul has more towers that exceed 250 meters but then you have Tokyo that boasts 24 buildings above 200 meters, Seoul has at the moment only 13.

I had the chance to go to both of the cities. At street level, Tokyo is more impressive than Seoul when it comes to tall buildings.

When you'll make it there (Seoul and Tokyo), you will understand what I'm trying to say.

On a side note, there was a proposal to build a supertall in Tokyo about 10 years ago, construction was scheduled to start in 2007 with a completion in 2010. Unfortunately the project was stalled for a period and then canceled.

The supertall would've had 338 meters of height. Domage.

More info about this project you can find Here

Seoul mayor has cancelled Yongsan IBD, but, if Seoul Light will be built and Parc1 complete, Seoul will be more impressive I think Tokyo is an awesome city, you're right on this point. But, if after this mayor there is another that love and approve skyscrapers and development, Seoul will have, possibly, a number of supertalls like Busan, that have now 1 supertall on hold, 3 in preparation and 1 build. I hope that this will be the future of Seoul, so it will be AS IMPRESSIVE AS Tokyo.
And Seoul will have its iconic building like Tokyo, Lotte World Tower, that is a skyscraper not a tower for communication.
But, I repeat, I think that Tokyo is a fantastic city so it is my opinion

Tokyo has a largest skyline , and the city doesn't really need very tall buildings as the demand isn't high , and I believe that the Horizental Density of Tokyo is really much more impressive than the limited vertical density of many cities wich have Supertalls ( Exclude HK , NYC and Chicago ).

The CBD in Tokyo around the Imperial Palace I like the most, not the tallest buildings but the quality of the buildings is very high. Seoul, I like Gwangjin-gu mostly because it is a good mix of old and new, and just seems more Korean than Gangnam, etc.
omg I'm from Gwangjin-gu Walker Hill apartments!!

Right When go to Tokyo city hall's observatory deck I was schock with So wide tokyo's density. Tokyo SHIBUYA and rockbongi is same with SEOUL But ordinary house area very clean and arranged. Seoul didn't.

Let's be careful with these city comparisons. They most often end up in bickering and well off track. They're kind of pointless.

Thanks for the update Inno. I just wish the bloody mall was opening soon.

250 m?
It have overpassed the roof height of KLI 63 Building *
So now it is the sixth tallest building in Seoul, after Seoul Three IFC, Mokdong Hyperion Towers Tower 1, KLI 63 Building (included antenna), Tower Palace 3 Tower G and Trade Tower (included antenna).
Wait this moment for a long time and now...
I'm really happy, trust me

Then:
Only ~34 m and it will be the tallest structure in Seoul, overpassing One IFC Seoul
Only ~50 m and it will be the first supertall in Seoul
Only ~55 m and it will be the tallest structure in South Korea, overpassing NEATT in Incheon
Only ~80 m and it will be the tallest structure in Korean Peninsula, overpassing Ryugyong Hotel in Pyongyang
Only ~89 m and it will be taller than the tallest structure in Europe, overpassing Mercury Tower in Moscow.
Only ~202 m and it will be taller than the tallest structure in Malaysia, overpassing Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur
Only ~280 m and it will be taller than the tallest building in Guangzhou, overpassing CTF Guangzhou
Only ~291 m and it will be taller than the tallest structure in New York, overpassing 1WTC and so become the tallest structure in OECD
Only ~306 m and it will be topped out, so the tallest structure ever build in South Korea and the tallest building in a capital city, overpassing Taipei 101, in Taipei.

You Right!
Many project disappear due to world finacial crisis.(YONGSAN IBD, SEOUL LITE ETC)
But Lotte tower is no problem when another world financial crisis hit...
Because this project is last hope for Mr shin who chairman of lotte group(they already finished prepare financial supply for lotte tower).
Only problem is korean's anti develop culture.
