Just a question!

How tall is the Lotte World Tower currently? (without the cranes)?
Has anyone an idea about the current height?

I would say that the core reaches ~400 meters but maybe I'm wrong?...

I would doubt that. It can't be more 450-500m. I'm pretty sure there are taller observation decks in the world.

Is there any height relation between this tower and the observation / communication tower on the mountain there? Some of the recent photos seem to make them appear at similar elevations. If LWT is about 400m at the moment, at what height is that other tower?

The observation deck is actually at the 500m point. That's the highest yet. The 2nd highest is the Tokyo Sky Tree I believe which is 100 m below the one that will be on the Lotte Tower.

You are probs talking about the Seoul N Tower which is 237m tall. It tops out at 480m above sea level.

No, it won't. The observation deck in the Shanghai Tower will be at 557 meters and will probably open before this one.

They have tons of skyscrapers. They don't have many supertalls.
Seoul is 11th in the number of skyscrapers they have: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...st_skyscrapers

And these are some of their supertalls :

That's right. LWT was initially planned to open few months before Shangai Tower, so for a long time Lotte promoted their observation platform as the world's highest.
It would have been the highest until the opening of SH tower, but unfortunately LWT has about 1 year construction delay.
Anyway, you can still say its the highest tower and highest platform among industrialized and developed countries.
But whatever, care more about the architecture than for silly titles who is higher, bigger, longer..

absolutely I agree
LWT is first supertall where to built in among industrialized and developed cities.
I don't know where 2000 years old and advanced city have over 555m height building in the world ?
Seoul is first

Seoul must competitive with global leading metropolitan such like a London tokyo.
But those city can not have supertall due to some rational reason
I know skyscraper is not best answer for city's future prosperity.
However It can be some special distinguish from other.

Seoul have no old architecture like in paris. But Seoul have stable land quality and world most density population and advanced IT technology
Therefore Supertall will be answer for Seoul's future!
