This tower is growing extraordinarily fast. Definitely one of my favorite supertalls. What the expected top out date.

Imo cities are just like human.beings, they are noisy, messy but dynamic when growing , when they are quiet and in good manner they're grown up and start ageing. Nobody perfect.
Also, the argument is lotte japanese or korean is a childish question fuelled by radical nationalism. In the globalized world today big companies try to become "glocal" that mean they are both global and local, they are roman when in rome, african when in africa etc
Back to lwt, the top part of the tower, when built, will make the tower have a much more charming look than now.
As inno said ltw design was inspired by tradition ceramic pots but i see the "pots" in retail podium only. The tower somehow make me think of a dolphin or a hanbok

RIGHT
lwt remind me dolphin and submarine also your hanbok very interesting comparison.
Probably you are the one who LWT compare with korea traditional clothe i.e Hanbok.
you are A GENIUS!

In the 1960s Korea was just a devestated wasteland full of uneducated farmers, traumatized by decades of oppression and one of the most severe wars in recent history. Just 50 years ago a Chicken was a barely affordable luxury, while today most people have heated toilet seats, 4 credit cards and post selfies online from their vacations in Thailand or Philippines.

Society does not develop as quickly as technology, but still, Korean society changed extremely in the past 50 years, like Europe did in 170 years. Imagine how Korea will change after 170 years...

oh humptydumpty7!
This is Best comment ever i read in SSC. I Applaud
You're right. 1960s~1980s Korean very poor. I remember that my sunday school teacher say to me she can't eating a fried eggs too expenses to eating in 도시락 dosilark(lunch box) when she was high school student.
In my birthday I was very exciting cause I can eating special food i.e chinses black noodle 짜장면 jajangmyun
Also my whole family sleep in one room except elder sister who sleep in attic.
Too many poor memory in my kids. But I was not sad about those poor because everybody my friend poor too like me.

Now korea's prosperity due to UN alliance country who fight for freedom. Really appreciated that we will not forget

Thank you guys for your positive and also critical responses to my statement!
With my statement I especially ment the cultural aspect of Korea's quick development and the huge generation gap, not technology.

Young Koreans today live in a fundamentally different world than their parents or grandparents. Old Koreans lived in a much harsher world in poverty.
Of course their social behaviour is different than what we "westerners" would expect in such a modern looking country.
In 1-2 more generations things will be very different.

Anyway, the tower makes progress, and society will too

That perspective shows just how genuinely enormous this tower is! Very impressive.

The cladding also serves to make a commanding impression on the casual observer - this is a solid structure that is going to be around for... centuries!

Once they complete this building, they might have to rename Jamsil... "Mordor". I can't be the only one right ?
