Amazing zoom in photo from bongeunsa.
I think seoul is unique city cause historical background+metropolitan+mountain/river. It really unique in the world.
i'm glad that you leave seoul with good memory.
anytime welcome to seoul friend!

Seokchon is such a nice lake, surrounded by this neat little walkway and park, and now interconnected with Lotte World Mall very well (which wasn't the case with the amusement park). Lotte knows the public is still defiant about the project, and drawing people in the area for not only the Mall/Tower but something else, proved very successful last time around (Rubber Duck). Reinforcing this idea through the fountain could really work. And in any case, Songpa can always use more entertainment and leisure. Because besides this place and Sports Complex, it's not so dynamic. I'll wait to see the final product, but with this beautiful lake and the tower in the backdrop, I can really see families go there for the lake/fountain, and then head to the mall/tower.

Also, Seoul has many assets, but didn't have water fountains like that, so that's a welcome addition to the city (and don't mention the Banpo Bridge, it looks like the bridge is peeing rather than an actual Water show)
they investment about $ 100 millions(1천억 won) in above fountain show
already Lotte contact with WET of USA which company who built Dubai fountain show.
according to the report lotte will be make this lake fountain world Top 2 huge scale. which means behind DUBAI
official lotte tower 6 grade hotel name is "signiel"
btw around lwt good place for picnic with families. especially those area historical place so tourist can walk around not only modern supertall but also historical ruin

so do i
Roller Coaster must built over suckchon lake. they can make this place unique inner city amuse park. I believe they will another great scale project in 롯데월드 loote world

this is 120m building now U/C in CBD of seoul
lotte fountain will be 123m which means fountain water sprout until at top of that building LOL

This city mesmerizes me. Lotte World Tower fits perfectly to strict architectural features of the city.

Is that fountain in front of Shinsegae of historical value? I thought it was quite old as a lot of the buildings in the area are of Japanese colonial origin. If that's the case, I'd hate for it to go.

They shouldn't demolish the fountain in front of Shinsegae Dept Store or any of the Japanese colonial style buildings because that's culture and history right there (Yes, it's painful but hey if that's the case, all colonial buildings should be demolished in Latin America built by the Spanish). The sad reality about Korea is they're always trying to demolish historic buildings to make room for new buildings...personally I hate cities with no cultural or historical value...take a look at Dubai, yes it's all new and modern but it has NO CULTURAL/HISTORICAL VALUE and therefore BORING. I'll take Siem Reap over Dubai any time of the day

absolutely right. So Do I. I prefer historical city than not
That is the reason why SEOUL is precious and Unique city in the world.
Seoul is only one city in the world where has "History+natural(big river/big mountain)+megalopolis" at the same time.

Pics from September.

Article from Korea IT Times:
Quote:
Lotte Duty Free (LDF) said that it will turn the 123-story Lotte World Tower into a landmark in Northeast Asia and raise the Tower’s sales to 4.5 trillion won by 2025.
In other words, LDF aims to grow the complex into the world’s No.1 duty-free shopping destination.

[...]

To offer foreign tourists things to see, the company has also decided to create a large 123-meter-high musical & light fountain at Seokchon Lake Park.
In other words, Lotte is poised to turn the Lotte World Tower into a tourist attraction that can compare well with Dubai’s Burj Khalifa and Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands.

On top of that, the company plans to make the Lotte World Tower the largest tourism hub in Gangnam by equipping it with the world's highest outdoor observatory (located on the 123rd floor),
South Korea’s first 120-billion-won vineyard-style concert hall for classical music, Lotte Cinema World Tower (Asia's largest multiplex theater), Lotte World Mall's aquarium boasting
an 85-meter-long underwater tunnel, a six-star hotel rising 414 meters above ground, etc.
Lotte has big plans with the whole complex and the chances are great that the tower will become a unique and memorable landmark like Marina Bay Sands in Singapore or Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
Especially as the complex has really much to offer for really everyone lol
