it has a unique shape to it, that is a plus,
but come on SOM. a transition from a square base to circular to shouldnt look this odd...but maybe in 10 years this will be nothing odd, comparatively? |

gah... this has become MAJOR news in korea. we are currently getting 2gb of traffic PER HOUR. what dicks me off is not one of the bloody south korean websites is linking to skyscrapernews, they are simply all stealing our bandwidth without fail.
note to visiting south korean webmasters. link to us or ill blacklist you all on our site log and then no one in your country can view them. happy? by the way, im going to do a follow up story on this next week. i have more images including interiors. these pictures are the final designs... so far! |

i can usually find where a tower is gonna be using the renders and google earth but for the life of me i cannot place this one. where is seoul is this going to be?

When it comes to skyscrapers and arcitecture I'm very open mined and I easily accept a proposed design. I'm just not really feeling it with this building. Maybe it will grow on me over time. I'm not going to bluntly say "I hope this doesn't get built" or "It doesn't fit in". We'll just have to wait and see.

I don't think it is ugly, just weird. It reminds me somehow of Foster's designs like WTC kissing towers or Hearst building. The old rendering looked like the Transamerica Pyramid's base with weirdness above.
How it goes from square to circle is cool, though. Also it would look beter IMO if the crown was not like a giant waste basket and put 4 spires equilaterally around the perimeter. Last edited by choyak; July 10th, 2007 at 08:43 AM. |
