It ressembles a little bit Costanera Center tower in Santiago, Chile.

It doesn't. I don't see any similarity.

Actually, kimiwind1184 is the person who visited the construction site in Seoul in person, taking many pictures with his own eyes. I mean he knows the the tower and its surrouding very well. He knows much better than anybody who is judging by only few pictures here.

Also, I don't think there is the similarity between two.

It's quite obvious there is a resemblance not only to the Costanera Tower but to many others as well. There are many towers that narrow to the top and many that are a square in the floor plan section. There are also skyscrapers that have that slit on the corner too. It's not to annoy you. All these elements don't make the Lotte Tower unoriginal. The shape and its proportions are different and it already lasts to refresh the design. In my opinion the Lotte Tower design is very original and essential too. The cladding will play an important part, as usual.

Regarding the site visitation. It is really nice that Kimiwind has been to Seoul, but I think that seeing the hole in the gorund can't make anyone a design expert. It must be an awesome and inspiring experience, but the detailed plans would be more helpful if you want to say something about the architecture of the future object. The genius loci is decisive, but so far we all just have a few pictures.

In my opinion Lotte Super Tower is not even close to looking like the Costanera Tower

Also I'd like to note that Lotte Super Tower is a masterpiece but Costanera Tower is ugly.

That's one mighty construction site there, it just looks huge and i thought the Shanghai Tower base was huge. This must be one of the few supertall designs that hasn't been compromised much in height and design S Korea, bravo, absolutely love it

Don't make a fool of your yourself again. You're just making people laugh their ass with your unmature posts everytime.

With one's eyes, even if you're looking at it from Pluto, it's clearly there is no similarity. (Sorry guys if that pisses you off but let's be rational).

Have check at these two diagrams:
http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=84323 (Lotte tower)
http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=46521 (Costanerra tower)
Do I need to explain more?

Also, I've heard some folks here talk about a resemblance in the surroundings ! OMG! Give me a break man.

Looking the diagrams, it's obvious that there are similarities between both towers: square plant, the curvature is quite similar (more in the lotte tower, but both of them have the same type of curvature), both of them are totally cladded, and the design of the roof is the same idea (in Shard London Bridge Tower too).

It's not bad! In totally cladded towers is difficult to give them personality, but Lotte tower has it!

Again? Put in some example, but not in PM. And by the way look at the last few post and analyse it. You will find at least reasonable degree of civility. I'm fine with your comment it doesn't affect me but I want to give you an early warning, just from indirect experience, that starting your response like this without a reason is like taking a first step to get a brig or a ban. Don't worry so far nothing serious has happened. There is just a risk that such a kind of attitude can evolve.

Yeah eight years ago I had drawn my first skyscraper there so I know how it works. What do these two drawings present? This is exaclty what I or trimetileno have written. Nobody of us said the towers looks the same and we both think that Lotte Tower is very original. You misunderstand the meaning of a resemblance.

Even though I don't think Seoul Super Tower and Costanera Tower have anything in common I agree with you that Kimiwind used inappropriate language against you. Disagreeing is no reason to start flaming so Kimiwind please choose better words next time

I apologize for my attitude towards you Jakub. But watch out your reactions toward my posts next time (I'm not talking about this thread only). Thank you.

You should have guessed that. The diagrams make a good insight of how these two towers are far from to be similar. So technically I don't need to write a topic about that so you get the point.

Ultimately, it's my mistake getting involved in these comparisons! I shouldn't give my opinion at first and let you guys think the way you want. Anyway, let's stick to the main topic and updates of this iconic tower.

Okay apologies accepted, no big deal. Finally I just want to say we all see the Seoul Lotte Tower as a beautiful design so there is no point to converse in this way, but still I think a discussion can be stimulating.

Kimiwind, I react mainly to a contents or an opinion at least I try to do so. That advice to use google earth was a funny thing actually, helpful too...

I don't have to guess anything, I get your point all along, I know how the tower looks, the problem is you don't get mine.
