Aside from the very top tip, this looks nothing like the Shard.

This looks nothing like the Shard at all. This is beautiful but the Shard is ugly

I think I like shard more. First because it fits its location much better than lotte and second (personal) because I like straight lines in buildings more than curves. Especially in tapering tower like this they (curves) makes building look fat. But still I think lotte is great tower. I like its crown very much, and I especially love the scale of this monster. The construction itself is much more interesting than this of the shard.

The Shard is one of the most beautiful skyscrapers in the world, but lotte is okay, too. It's kinda hard to compare them, actually.

You mean the size? It's kind of self explanatory isn't it?. We talked about the design of the two towers.

even the design is so different. the shard is a triangle and like a square on the bottom, this has a round bottom and a hyperbolic form toward the top. the only similarity is that they have an open crown with two sides nearing each other into a splitted top and even that looks different because of the overall different shapes.

On this I completely agree I just thought you're focusing your opinion mainly on size when you posted that diagram (like if Lotte beats shard just because its larger).

Well said.

Thanks for the update. I'm visiting Seoul next week and I'll make sure to check the construction site before doing anything else. Last time I was there the tower wasn't even above ground level.

Great update, Inno. Looking huge already. What's the tallest tower in Songpa Gu currently? The Lotte hotel? Lotte Castle Apartments? Anyway, this thing will dominate like anybody's business

The three towers of Galleria Palaca complex are the tallest buildings in Songpa. The trio residential skyscrapers come around 150 meters, just bit higher than Lotte Castle Twin towers that make 149 meters. Lotte hotel in fact is just 115 meters tall.

But on second thought.... maybe "Hanggun"tower is tallest tower in songpa which is in the vicinity of the Lotte tower and 30 floor at the moment underconstruction

I see. Thanks for the info. I've never heard of Galleria Palace. To be honest all these Palaces and Castles become confusing after a while
I haven't been to the Jamsil area for about 5 years. I'm going to Seoul next week, so this will certainly change.
