<<< Wind Energy Skyscrapers >>>

.

I don't know if a "Wind Energy Skyscraper" like this could even be built someday (the concepts I've seen so far, just add two-three rotors to a skyscraper to save 10-15% of energy) however, it looks like a very good idea that worth an article:

no no no

I don't believe in this project...

Placing these ventilators will have too much horizontal forces...the structure will have to be too heavy overdimensioned and the cost on nature to make this is too big.

I believe more in this project which has been tested....

If you can implant it in an emty space just outside the city, there will be a flow of gasses too...

Good thinking though...it's good people come with new ideas...

no, it's exactly the inverse

assuming the W.E.S. is impacted by a 100 mph wind, it offers 1/5th, 1/10th (or less) the resistance (and the "horizontal forces") than a solid skyscraper since the W.E.S. is 99% made of "OPEN AIR" while the rotors run at the SAME speed of the wind, NOT brake it!

then, a W.E.S. doens't need any "too heavy" (nor costly) structure, but a LIGHT (and cheap) structure to work SAFELY

article's update: very important note added

.

I've updated my article with this very important note:

"after thinking twice about my W.E.S. drawing, I believe that its "Energy Storage System" is TOO BIG (probably TEN+ times bigger than necessary!) since it doesn't need to store the full energy produced but just the (night and weekend) extra-energy to be released on peak's requests"
