Somehow they make Oriental Pearl look taller than Shanghai Tower.

It is just perspective. Oriental Pearl is just closer to where the picture was taken than Shanghai Tower.

in that case it depends almost entirely on the angle at which the photo was taken.
would the photographer be on the same height as oriental pearl the shanghai tower would for sure look way taller even if OPT is a bit closer.

The distance from Broadway Mansions in the front to the Oriental Pearl Tower is exactly 1 kilometer, while the distance to the Shanghai Tower is 1,9 kilometer.

Good question, I'm pretty confident it's this tower mistakenly posted in the Xujiahui Center thread:
http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpo...&postcount=235

But this does not really answer your question of course

Seems to be a general problem with projects in Shanghai. There are several large projects that are massively under-covered or not covered at all. For example when you look at the imagery in Google Maps, you can see (sometimes really huge) plots being cleared all over the city - but no reporting here. There must be a tower lover in Shanghai - if there is please join the forum

The Project in the background is this: http://sh.focus.cn/votehouse/604410.html

You can find it also at Gaoloumi . It is a very nice project.

By the way: At Focus.cn you can find a unbelievable number of projects of whole China. It is amazing how much will build there. Only in Shanghai, the Projects are so beautiful and elegant. I love to looking there for projects.

Thank you! The project is nice, but it's not quite tall

Yes it skyscraper Shanghai IFC. It is called Flair Rooftop Restaurant & Bar.

A very “special occasion” option for al fresco drinking, Flair's split-level outdoor terrace offers Shanghai's most breathtaking view to drink by. But spaces like this don't come cheap. There is a minimum charge of RMB 350 per person for outdoor tables, and because it's part of a hotel, don't forget to factor in the 15 percent surcharge on everything. Al fresco fact: Located on the 58th floor of the new Ritz-Carlton in Pudong, this is the highest outdoor restaurant and bar in Shanghai, and the best place to feel as though you can reach out and touch the pink-jeweled pearls of Lujiazui's iconic Pearl Tower. Drink: For something different, try the Flair Experience, made with mango puree and whiskey. It's like drinking a a smoothie for grown-ups (RMB 90, plus 15 percent).
