Lithuanians used to do it but don't any more. I am quite happy with the change.

About Corridor 8

The Corridor VIII is one of ten trans-European corridors which connect the Adriatic and the Black Sea. The main alignment of Corridor VIII runs from the southern Italian ports of Bari and Brindisi, through the Albanian ports of Durres and Vlora, the cities of Tirana, Skopje, Sofia, Plovdiv, to the Bulgarian ports of Burgas and Varna (Black Sea). Rail Corridor VIII has connections at various points with Rail Corridors X, IV and IX.

While the corridor is relatively well-established from Sofia to the Black Sea, there are a number of missing links along the 586 km between Durres-Skopje-Sofia, which accounts for about half of the total rail corridor length. Within Macedonia, 152 km of the rail infrastructure in Corridor VIII is constructed and operational. About 90 km remains to be constructed on the eastern section between Skopje and Bulgaria, and about 66 km on the western link with Albania.

The overall objective of the project is to undertake a feasibility study and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), in line with IFI, EU and Macedonian requirements and assist the Macedonian Ministry of Transport and Communications in the preparation of the financing of the eastern section of Rail Corridor VIII (Kumanovo-Beljakovce-Kriva Palanka- Deve Bair, Bulgarian border).

I am very pleased that there is finally a macedonian forumer that brought back to life this thread.

I want to ask something. I watched an interview with your PM Nikola Gruevski. He said that corridor VIII is planned to run Bitola/Ohrid-Shtip-Blagoevgrad. Is it possible that this alternative/complementary section might be prioritized?

In two separate interviews the Minister of Transport and Communications said that government priority is the construction of a motorway section Miladinovci-Stip, while Corridor 8 is obviously delayed for some better times.

According to the above map, Shtip will be connected to Veles with motorway, and according to the statemants that you quoted Shtip will be connected with Miladinovci (which is close to Skopje Airport).

What will be built Veles - Shtip or Miladinovci - Shtip?

New asphalt surface with new edges and signalization replaced the old holes on the section Surdulicа - Radichevo on the M6 road Stip-Strumica, which was officially opened for traffic today.

The section is approximately 10 km in length and a width of 7.7 meters. It has new edges, new signalization and a speed limit of 100 kilometers per hour.

It is not ex E75, it is ex M1. A1 is the national road code, the E75 is the European road code. So they both exist together.

Finally! After 21 years there is new road. Can someone post pics from the old road to see what I mean?
