As per the convention, if you are entering & exiting the same toll gate, it is assumed that you have travelled all way and returned by the same way.
For eg, if you buy a one way toll in OMR at Perungudi, your entry is noted at Siruseri gate or Thorappakkam gate or ECR SHolinganallur gate where you exit. Then you can not re enter without buying a fresh ticket. But when you exit, they enter in their computers and put a seal also on the ticket. You can buy 2 way if you are returning by the same. If you are coming from Pallikkaranai to say SRP tools via toll gates, then you need not pay anything but you have to get a toll ticket at entry gate. You are supposed to exit the Perungudi Gate within say 5 to 10 mins. Otherwise you are charged. If you are entering Perungudi gate and does not cross Siruseri / Thoraipakkam or Sholinganallur gates and returning via the same entry gate, you are supposed to pay only one way. Not two way. You can argue. |

If a person enters from ecr sholinganallur side and needs to get to medavakkam/Tambaram should he buy a one way ticket? The road is not being used here, just crossing an intersection.

U no need to buy anything. U can just tell that person that u r going to medavakkam and he will allow u. Again u need to tell that at the exit at the medavakkam road. Actually they will issue a dummy receipt at the entry which u can return while exit

The harassment lies in implementation of a hapazard policy at the Thorapakkam gate. Some gatekeeper will allow and someone will insist on buying another ticket (if you had entered with a single). If you raise questions, some superior will intervene and he may or may not allow. Sometimes the man on the entry side will advise you to buy a single (if you can return in 20 minutes) and the man on exit side will not accept it Why there is question of discretion and left to the man on duty and why can't they follow a specific rule? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We are extremely happy to share with you that the long cherished idea of a Common Public Transport system providing easy access for commuters of IT Highway is off the ground with a baby step. After several rounds of discussions with representatives of various companies, NASSCOM in collaboration with MTC has finalized peak hour shuttle services from Madhya Kailash to SIPCOT Industrial Park in Siruseri. The inaugural flag-off took place today at 7 am, 25th May 2012, from Madhya Kailash, amidst the presence of Government, NASSCOM, Industry and Media representatives. MTC will be operating in the routes mentioned below. These buses would also be useful to commuters wanting to get dropped at MRTS junctions as well. · Route # 119B > Madhya Kailash > Siruseri IT Park Madhyakailash >Tidel Park > SRP Tools > Velachery > Madipakkam Road Jn. (Kaiveli) > Radial Road Jn. (Kamatchi Hospital / Cognizant > 230 K.V. Tower > Thorapakkam D.B Jain College > Karapakkam > Shozhlinganallur > Kumaran Nagar > Chemmenchery > Navalur > SIPCOT > Siruseri IT Park (Bio Tech). · Route # 219B > Madhya Kailash > Siruseri IT Park Madhyakailash > Tidel Park > SRP Tools > Velachery > Pallikaranai Narayanapuram > Medavakkam Junction > Perumbakkam > Shozhlinganallur > Navalur > Siruseri IT Park. · Route # 319B > Madhya Kailash > Siruseri IT Park Madhyakailash Tidel Park > SRP Tools > Kandhansavadi> Lifeline > First Toll > Thorapakkam Junction > Cognizant > Karapakkam > Shozhlinganallur > Navalur > Second Toll > Siruseri IT Park. We are sure that this will add to the convenience and comfort of all users who prefer to ‘Go Green’ and use a shared commutation model for routine daily office travel. This will also reduce the dependency on share autos and ensure safe arrival at workplace. This is a pilot initiative and based on the success, the industry will further work with MTC to ply A/C Volvo buses, extend coverage during non peak hours and increase the reach across the City. We request associates to kindly make use of this facility to its fullest advantage. We hope this first step towards a ‘Green Transportation’ model will play a role in making Chennai a well connected City and improve the ease of transport.

Actually it is a bus rail (rally) moving in IT corridor from 07:00AM to 10:00AM in the morning and 4:30PM to 7:30PM in the evening.
I want to capture that bus rally as video from one of the FOB (Karapakkam is best spot) and post it here.. but my camera is dammal now. The no. will go drastically up once Ramanajum IT city, ELCOT Shols SEZ and Siruseri IT park u/c buildings becomes operational.

No service lanes - No pedestrian facilities - No dedicated bus stop areas - Pedestrians running across the road in all directions - share autos stopping wherever they want - Most of the end lanes covered with sand / parked vehicles - Unfinished service lane and duct work with heaped mud and poking steel rods ... It does not even qualify as a regular good road. But they've hiked fees for a second time. !!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And nothing can be done except bashing our heads |
