My pictures from austrain A9, direction Graz, taken 15.08.2007. I was driver and picture were mostly taken by my friend. If it comes to photography, he is real lamer.
1. We drove from Passau, driving 130 through a boring flat country, when suddenly....

2. ... we crossed tunnel...

3. ... and we moved into Alps.

4. Breathtaking view.

5. If you look attentive...

6. ...you will see three tunnels in a row.

7. No emergency lane.

8. el comes back

9. I was wondering...

10. ....how can we bypass this mountain...

11. ...and the answer was....

12 ... Bosruck tunnel!

13. Back to the sun.

14. Another great view.

15. If i had a castle situated like this...

16. I wanted to count tunnels, but i lost my track

17. Bosruck tunnel is toll. Another extra toll (as you know, you need vignette to drive on austrian motorways) tunnel is Gleinalmtunnel. And this is tollstation.

18. I paid my bill and could get into darkness . There’s only one carriageway, just like Bosruck.

19. And again i was blinderd by the sunlight after 10 minutes in the dark. They should do something with that, ‘cause this roof is to short and eyes can’t get accustomed to new conditions, even with sunglasses.
.

Ok, that's all. Of course there are more beautiful roads in Austria, but i couldn't stand my friends' incompetence and told him not to shot pictures anymore. Next time i will do it by myself.

beautiful landscape. Anyway this is way I prefer direct slopes, look, the mountains look imposant and high from the distance but when you are infront of them they don´t make you look up because thehse slopes aren´t direct. They don´t go high at once, usually at such a distance the mountains such look very high. Ofcourse even these slopes are beautiful.

Hi guys!

Do you have any info, is this deadline going to be kept, or they will postpone it?

Edit:
I'm talking about the A6 opening date.

At the moment, it looks like Nov 19 is indeed the opening date, everything is going according to plan.

Vienna-Bratislava Motorway Opens

Quote:
Slovak and Austrian Politicians Opened Bratislava-Vienna Motorway
November 19, 2007.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico and Austrian Federal Chancellor Alfred Gusenbauer at the Austrian border town of Kittsee on Monday, November 19, cut the gala ribbon to open the new A6 motorway - a link that provides a continuous motorway connection between Europe's most closely located capitals Bratislava and Vienna.

The opening ceremony was also attended by Slovak and Austrian Transport Ministers Lubomir Vazny and Werner Fayman, along with Slovak Interior Minister Robert Kalinak.

"This motorway is an unbelievable contribution towards connecting Slovakia to the international motorway network. This will also mean increased investor interest in Slovakia, as the motorway connection between these two countries has been made easier," Fico told reporters.

The A6 opening, stressed Vazny, means a practical first connection for Slovakia to trans-European transport corridors. "Slovakia welcomes this connection, because this transport link can accommodate 17,000 vehicles in 24 hours, and this motorway will certainly justify itself."

Slovakia opened its part of the Bratislava-Vienna motorway connection, Bratislava-Jarovce, in July 1999.

The Austrian part of motorway was completed by Austria after 12 years of planning and three years of construction. Austrian motorway company Asfinag noted that the A6 is 22 kilometres long and connects Kittsee (which is only around five kilometres from Bratislava) with the A4 motorway, which leads directly to Vienna.

According to Asfinag, the new motorway is "ecological, safe, comfortable and technologically advanced."

In order to use the Austrian motorway, cars will have to display a windscreen sticker, with a ten-day permit costing €7.6, and a year-long one coming to €72.60 (Sk2,400).

What to say? Looks like a shame for Austria that needed almost two decades since the fall of the Iron Curtain to construct a merely 22-km motorway worth 146 million euros, connecting its capital with another (neighboring) country's capital of half a million people just 70 km away. But let's forget this now, it's finally here!

Absolutely. But what I am more concerned about is how shiny the crash barriers are?

I am not sure if that motorway isn´t a rollercoaster if you even can see that it isn´t even, that shouldn´t be.

I was saying that the road doesn´t look even, it obviously has bumps, and that´s not meant to be offensive, the road is surely well built and will stay like that for 10 years, it just doesn´t look even and flat.

You like that games, a?

I think Radi, after seeing pictures from construction time, found that this road now looks like that, with this waving asphalt pavement. Not as smooth, as true motorway should be.

But if i'm wrong, and he ment something else, then i would like to be next to f#?k, rape and torture me.

Edit: ufff, i see the answer was correct...

And a video with the new motorway (not much of it, but the video isn't long anyway).

And why do you mean that? How do you know, that this new motorway (which has, frankly said, much superior road quality compared to Struma) bumpy, if you even didn't see one single picture of finished surface?

Why are you laughing? "Fúkal" means "it had blown," in infinitive "fúkať." If you don't like that word you can use also synonyms like "vial" or a bit expressive, what IMO fits in this case, "dul."

BTW, today I've read in newspapers complaints about the quality of pavement. It's poor quality in combination with very windy weather, which is ussual in this area, can be dangerous.
