Zagor is an authority in alpine passes, but less so in history

Did they replace this sign as well?
Yes, now there is an overhead sign saying it is 1000 m for the exit to (I) and 500 m for the exit to (SLO)

It looks similiar to this one:

That's one of the worst signs I've ever seen. The arrow graphic unambiguously indicates that the A2 exit is the first exit and the A11 is the second exit. If I didn't have time to read the distances, I would have no doubt. If I did read the distances, I would have no idea which part of the sign was wrong and have no idea which exit to take.

A2 IS the first exit, A11 the second one but normally there should be 1500 m instead of 500 m for the A11 exit

Anyway, this would be my proposal:

2000m

1000 m

500 m

Exit to Italy 1

Exit to Italy 2

Exit to Slovenia 1

Exit to Slovenia 2

Distance sign on A11

I like that you put national numbers before E-roads.

Fortunately on newer signs the national road number, which is de facto more important, is always first.

Have you ever been to Naples? If not, you really have no idea what an espresso should taste like.

Hausbrandt has, or used to have, a coffee shop here.

What does the big bullseye thing next to "Villach-Süd" mean?

I know European signs are [sometimes excessively] specific with local destinations....

I'm not an espresso fan, actually. But Hausbrandt's from Trieste, I thought.

I knew that you was waiting for someone to say that. I favor Napoli by far (there are a couple bars in Mergellina that are absolutely fabulous). But I must admit in Trieste I only had cappuccino

It is. Illy is among the best "commercial" brands. But - and I don't want to sound stand-offish - good coffee is another thing.
Oh, just been stand-offish. Let's say I prefer other types of coffee.
