Is the B 99 Katschberg Straße between Sankt Michael im Lungau and Rennweg am Katschberg opened in late May and passable with summer tyres?

I'm planning to make a stop in Sankt Michael im Lungau and thinking to continue afterwards on the B99 and bypass the Katschbergtunnel.

How much time would I loose by doing that?
If time loss is big then I would rather drive the whole toll part and stop somewhere after it.

It should definitely be open and passable if there is no adverse weather. Of course, at these elevations it can still snow during May, but in that case you still can fork out the 5 EUR for the motorway. You shouldn't lose more than 10 to 15 min by taking B99 over A10.

Every time I traveled that route, I returned another way.
This will also be the case this time.

I don't really want to make small savings, I care little for the 5.5€, I thought of maybe change the scenery for once.
I do have a long drive from Ingolstadt to Trogir, and also changing from motorway to normal roads for short times breaks the monotony.

Last Friday there was a "stau" on A4, just east of Wien. As you can see, people had no intention in forming the Rettungsgasse:

Reason for this traffic disturbance are roadworks for expansion A4 to 3 lanes between Airport exit and Fischamed exit:

Further ahead on A4, I think that they are changing the high-voltage wires. There's also a 100 km/h speed restriction here.

Not new, they've been around quite a while now. I see them everywhere in France, Germany and UK mainly.

I have noticed a tiny Rettungsgasse-tiredness as well: people rarely form the Rettungsgasse in the daily morning or afternoon traffic jams.

Both Innsbruck and München are posted a number of times on the A22.

Why would you go all that way, when Petting is just across the border?

Unusual to see falling arrows in Austria. I know there are or were a couple at Graz...
