Your right on both location names! Saitama City is what Omiya became when it merged with other surrounding towns. The main station with shinkansen is called Omiya Station. It's confusing when they do this in Japan, because the station names don't usually change and then they don't reflect the new city's name.

JR East and JR Hokkaido has announced the high speed services on Hokkaido Shinkansen Shin-Aomori to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto stations. Basically two types of trains using same names as Tohoku Shinkansen:

Hayabusa for Tokyo - Sendai direct trains up to Shin-Hakodate.

Hayate for local Shin-Hakodate - Morioka trains.

Moreover, both companies showed to the press the logo for H5 trains, and the trains itself. New logo reminds the Hayabusa or Kagayaki, even L0 logo design. You can see the Hokkaido island relief.

And here the interior design of the train. HTB News report:

Why JR Hokkaido don't rebuild the stretch of Hakodate Main Line between Hakodate-Eki and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto to some Shinkansen trains reach Hakodate central station?

This stretch could be adapted as a Mini-Shinkansen line with double gauge (1067/1435 mm) for JR Hokkaido commuter/limited express trains, JR Kamotsu freight trains and Shinkansen trainsets. So, a service between Tokyo and Hakodate-Eki could be created.

I'm just asking if there'd a damage on newly open Hokuriko shinkansen in recent nagano earth quake last saturday? and if there's a cancelation of service?

I did a quick search and there doesn't seem to be any news about it. I'm assuming it's fine. And they built it even better than the Tohoku Shinkansen and it stood up pretty well to the big earthquake in 2011.

NHK said yesterday that a local railway will be repaired due the damages after Nagano Earthquake. But, Nagano Shinkansen is operating without problems.

Actually, from what I've read, the damage was around the small resort town of Hakuba, with several landslides damaging the JR East Ōito Line around that town. Hakuba is in the northwest corner of Nagano Prefecture, one of the larger prefectures in Japan.

As such, there was no interference with the current train testing on the Hokuriku Shinkansen line between Nagano and Kanazawa Stations.

For those wondering, the above is a picture, looking northwest, of the Tohoku/Joetsu shinkansen line (the elevated line), and the Tohoku main line alongside, in the vicinity of Higashi Jujo Station in Tokyo's Kita Ward (visible in the upper middle portion of the photo). The vantage point is likely the 17th floor of the Kitatopia building in Oji.

Speaking of the Shinkansen, I haven't heard anything recently about test runs on the Hokuriku Shinkansen line between Nagano and Kanazawa Stations. Any recently videos of high-speed testing on the line?

Got the link wrong, now it's working as it should.

To fine more of these, then go to Youtube and search on the Japanese name for the line, and you are bound to find something. In this case I searched for: 北陸新幹線
But if you have trouble to write with Japanese sings as I have, then just find the corresponding Wikipedia page for the line and copy the Japanese names from there.

That video posted was taken at Tsubata, geographically northeast of Kanazawa.

Hokkaido Shinkansen H5 Series makes first test run on December 1st.

Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station

Quote:
HAKODATE, HOKKAIDO – Shinkansen carriages that will be used on a new route in Hokkaido are being put through their paces on the route’s newly laid tracks.

Trial runs of the 10-car H5 series train began Monday ahead of the spring 2016 launch of the Hokkaido bullet train, Hokkaido Railway Co. and the Japan Railway Construction, Transport and Technology Agency said. The route will shrink the rail journey from Tokyo to southern Hokkaido to just 4 hours and 10 minutes.

On Monday, the train cars were to spend 3 hours traveling a 4-km round trip between a depot in the town of Nanae and the city of Hokuto. Workers will monitor whether there are any glitches in power transmission from the overhead lines.
