Actually, that very well may well be the case!

There has bee some confusion in blogs and such about this project, due to my lack of clarification in the initial post, so I'll take this opportunity to answer your question and clarify further.


There are currently 2 different skyscraper megaprojects in Hyderabad;

1. Lanco Hills (this project), 90 fl + more, located at Manikonda
2. Hyderabad Business District Manchirevula, 100+ fl tower + 12 30 fl minimum towers

So there are 2 approved supertalls for Hyderabad (the 100-fl hasn't been released yet.) These are only 2 sections of the huge skyscraper zone, so there is vast room for more and even taller projects. These 2 anchor projects at each end act as a catalyst and first phase for Hyderabad's densification and verticalization.

Hafeez Contractor, architect of the Hyderabad Obelisk proposal is actually the master planner and coordinating architect of Business District. Seeing how was so keen on this project going through, his Obelisk design very well may find its way into the 100-storey building, or some of the other office buildings.

I hope the APIIC comes up with a better architect than Hafeez. Well, tht might certainly be the case here with the ambani's and an Israeli construction gaint vying for the project....

I like to see that NOIDA TOWER make way into 100+ Floor Tower in Hyderabad instead of Obelisk. Such a lovely project like NT should never stay in the renderings forever. 100-storied building to come up in city

HYDERABAD: The city is set to get a 100-storied building, promoted as the largest residential complex in the world.

The work on this high-rise edifice is being taken up by LANCO as part of the LANCO Hills Technology Park Private Limited, a real estate venture on the sprawling 100 acres land at Manikonda. Apart from the majestic residential complex “Signature Towers,” an IT Park and commercial establishments, including 16 multiplexes and clubhouses, food joints and many more will come up.

Independent identity

The building will boast of an independent identity to each of the residential units, LANCO Managing Director G. Venkatesh Babu said here on Monday. Ample parking facility spread over three-level basement, jogging tracks, high-tech security and children’s play areas are some of the state-of-the-art facilities being planned.

A clubhouse of international standards with various amenities such as deluxe suites, swimming pool, banquet halls and restaurants will also be developed.

In four years

“Our building is going to be the world’s largest residential complex as against the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur or many other high-rises in Shanghai and Singapore which are residential-cum-commercial complexes,” Mr. Venkatesh explained, adding works will commence on July 4. The project is expected to be completed in four years.

HYDERABAD, JUL 2: The $500 million Lanco group has entered realty business with a bang through its SPV christened Lanco Hills Technology Park Private Ltd. The company proposes to develop about 30 million sq ft for IT-SEZ, ITeS and residential zones with an estimated investment of Rs 5,500 crore.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday, Lanco Infratech Ltd managing director G Venkatesh Babu said the property will be developed in two phases on a 108-acre plot at Manikonda village, about 18 km from the upcoming international airport.

It will have 12 IT towers including an SEZ and 15 residential blocks besides two hotels and malls, he added. The project is scheduled to be completed in the next four years excluding the signature block, which will be the tallest in the world.

“We cannot reveal the number of floors at this point of time, but it will be definitely be over 100 floors and become a centre of attraction,” Babu said.

as a resident of hyderabad, here is a contrarian view to the whole thing:

while the project looks grand on paper and seems to carry a lot of big names/partnerships with it with political clout as an added measure, am still wary of the builders capability to deliver 100% of what is being promised now.

get a feeling that what is being projected now is not the whole story.........particularly the signature tower. some more due dilligence is in order

however it will be great for hyderabad if it really happens.

yesterday i happenend to pass by the site.

there is some excavation activity in progress but not to the scale of what is shown.
i would normally have expected the site to be buzzing with activity now that the launch is over....was not very evident.
there was a sprinkling of excavators and dumpers but not to the scale that is neded.

let's hope things speed up......but i will remain sceptical about the ongoing hype for now.

Construction usually doesn't start anywhere in the world until 30% of the bookings are done. So what you must've seen would be dumpers trying to clear off rocks and vegetation to build the site office.

Is this tower now 100 storied ? There is news that the 100 storey tower in hyderabad is going to be 450 m tall.

The Lanco Hills Signature Tower is going to be over 100 stories -- no details on exact height.

The 450m tall tower is another tower at Manchirevula, Hyderabad to be built by Reliance for APIIC. It is to be completed in 4 years time.


So Hyderabad has 2 different 100+ storey supertall approvals in less than a week's time.
